Layne Staley of Alice in Chains used to be as glam as Poison. Yet somehow MTV, radio, and critics conveniently forgot that while they bashed Poison nonstop in the early 90s. Hypocrites of the highest order. The truth is coming next year with my new book, "Glam Gone Grunge."

I will expose this myth, and several others, in my upcoming book, GLAM GONE GRUNGE, coming in early 2027 🤘🏼 #glammetal #80srock #grunge #hairmetal #mtv

Killer show in San Jose last night from @officialwed13 to kick off his tour.

From my private collection: @crashdiet_org rocked the DNA Lounge in San Francisco on March 25, 2013 on their Savage Playground tour. Such an incredible band out of Sweden, really one of the leaders of the post-Sunset Strip era of glam metal. #crashdiet #glammetal

Bad City. They came, delivered one of the best albums of 2010, and then disappeared. These guys mastered the art of glam power pop that would've made them as big as the Struts. Check out their album "Welcome to the Wasteland!" #glammetal @BadCityMusic youtube.com/watch?v=rEYhapqs…

From my personal photo collection: Johnny Lima! If you like old school Bon Jovi, this guy's songs and voice have the same kind of vibe. He's a local Bay Area rocker and a very nice guy if you meet him. Very melodic and infectious. #glammetal #johnnylima youtu.be/yjOJ2gRZgfk?si=8gtQ…

Awesome, rare pic of @mrmickmars and @thevinceneil with Randy Savage and his then-girlfriend Gorgeous George. Looks to be around 2000 on the Maximum Rock tour. Unless you saw the A&E Biography on Savage, you've never seen this pic before. @Jon_Finkel #motleycrue #glammetal

Another great new band keeping rock N roll alive, @starcrazy_band . Hailing from Australia, their EP "Another Day, Another Squalor" has some good songs, like this one. If given the exposure, this is a money making hit single. youtube.com/watch?v=aRRFJOCC…

The band? Spread Eagle. The album? Spread Eagle. The song? Spread Eagle. The result? Perhaps the sleaziest song ever written. The riff, the vocals, the lyrics, the tone, the tempo, the solo... this song is just pure perfection. youtube.com/watch?v=edikhcC_…

Electric Angels stands as one of the lost gems of the Sunset Strip era, an underground classic album full of witty, catchy, Hanoi Rocks style rock N roll. youtube.com/watch?v=NJgABAH5…

"One Step Away" had Top 10 hit written all over it. How the airheads at Atlantic didn't see the potential of those two songs is mind boggling. youtube.com/watch?v=IXcdkgr_…

"The 80s were the best, music sucks now!" say the old people living under a rock. Blah blah blah, open your eyes because hard rock is THRIVING w/ kickass bands like Crazy Lixx! They're out there, just look and listen!📷#glammetal #crazylixx #bleedingrnr youtube.com/watch?v=pXekI0Li…

Enuff Z'Nuff in Metal Edge's "Rock on the Rise" section, Nov '89. From frequent appearances on Howard Stern and Letterman, they made quite a splash and have been cranking out great music ever since. Chip is also the coolest, nicest rock star I've ever met! @EnuffZnuff #enuffznuff

Flashback to April 2012 when I flew to Vegas for the original @MotleyCrue residency. Saw this billboard truck driving around the Strip. Very good show, I saw Vinnie Paul in the audience (and the night before, saw him jam with @Steel_Panther). #motleycrue #bleedingrnr #vegaslife

Pretty Boy Floyd was the soundtrack to my summer of 1990, when I'd rush home to request "I Wanna Be With You" on Dial MTV. #prettyboyfloyd #glammetal #BleedingRnR youtube.com/watch?v=0XlqXEAj…

Looking for a copy of the December 1993 issue of Hit Parader magazine, or even just a digital scan of a particular article featured inside. Please reach out to me if you can help out, thank you. @HairMetalGuru Maybe you have this? #hitparader #pearljam

The Billboard writer who reviewed Warrant's lead single from Ultraphobic didn't even know Jani Lane was still in the band! Unbelievable! Did they issue a correction? Of course not.

Researching this MTV book for my own upcoming book debunking the myth that grunge killed hard rock. Everything I'm learning confirms my theory! #mtv #80smetal #80sglam #hardrock #hairmetal

Nirvana arrogantly rejects Skid Row's offer to open for them, just before they blew up at radio and MTV. Serves the Skids right for asking such depressed, miserable f*cks. What were they thinking?!

From my BEST OF 2021 playlist: "Fire Inside" by @midnitecityuk. While I miss singer @Rob_Wylde band Teenage Casket Company, this is a more than suitable replacement! youtube.com/watch?v=NvgjJjdV…
