I’m starting to think Fortnite is ONLY giving these Golden Pirate Tokens to big streamers so millions of people keep wasting HOURS trying to get one. Regular players are opening hundreds of chests and getting NOTHING, while streamers somehow keep finding them???

I dont fucking believe any of this man its been an hour in and all the chests I've open have had nothing
You asked for info on drop rates, so here’s how it works:
The new treasure this season is found in chests just like other items. Treasure drop rates from chests are constant since season launch and don’t vary throughout the day, except during Treasure Hours. Other than Gizmos, you can’t get the same treasure twice.
Every time you open a chest in a normal match, here’s how likely you are to find the treasures:
• 1:1,562,500 - Weekly Gold Outfit
• 1:137,500 - Pirate Shop Access
• 1:7,813 - Weekly Vehicle & Decal
• 1:568 - Weekly Pickaxe or Backbling
• 1:391 - Weekly Jam Track
• 1:272 - Weekly Loading Screen
• 1:127 - Gizmo (any)
During Treasure Hours, including the one earlier today, these treasures have a boosted rate:
• Pirate Shop Access: 1.5x
• Weekly Gold Outfit: 7.5x
• Weekly Vehicle & Decal: 10x
These rates may be higher in future Treasure Hours. If so, we’ll let you know. For instance, during tonight’s 9-11pm ET Treasure Hour, Pirate Shop Access will be boosted to 2.0x and Weekly Gold Outfit to 10.0x.

Free this and free that, it’s design is innately predatory, it hides odds and chances, can be changed at a whim for people to get it, spread word, and incentive people to waste hours, at times they might have it disabled, it’s scummy and harmful, abhorrent business practice.
This Pirate Shop Token really has players so upset, they're hoping the FTC takes action. Well, here are a few things to note:
+ The Pirate Shop Access Token does NOT require any purchase to find.
+ Everyone is given an equal chance of finding it.
+ Anyone can find the Pirate Shop Token.
+ Whether the odds are known or not, it does not take away from the hunt being equal for all players.
+ Players are not forced to play Fortnite.
+ Players should be held accountable for their own self control. If they can't get off the game, or become addicted, that's not on the responsibility of Epic Games.
+ FOMO has been a part of the game since the very beginning with item shops, new seasons, etc.
+ Fortnite is a FREE game, giving out a FREE prize.
I can understand why players are frustrated that they are not finding the Pirate Shop Token, but going the length of saying the FTC should get involved is a bit much. However, if Fortnite locked the token behind the battle pass, that would be different. The token is free, anyone can find, and if you're getting too frustrated you can always choose to not play the game or hunt for the token.
I'm sure there can be an argument made for "manipulative marketing tactics" to lure players onto the game, but I think it would be pretty hard for anyone to really make a solid case against Epic Games.
Anyways, I'll be searching for the token in the meantime. Happy hunting everyone!

"It's not rigged! It's just RNG! Pure luck!" and the fucking pedophile gets it after Tofu Chris tags them. Yeah ok. Sure.

Genuinely if I don’t find the token or skin soon I’m quitting this season 😭
it’s genuinely a gambling addiction season. 26 hours of playtime yet no skin or token yet

So the Treasure Hour didn’t increase the chances to get Treasure, despite it LITERALLY being the name of it? 😭
Yeah we’re never getting this token, gang. Wrap it up and play GTA 6

This person on TikTok is running a scam saying if you gift him, he’ll buy you the Pirate Shop token.
And he HAS A CREATOR CODE. Epic please address this! @FortniteStatus

The opposite of what they intended is happening
1. Ppl are getting burnt out in 3-4 days in a whole season
2. Drop rate is very unfair, ppl get in 300 chests while others don't at 10k
3. Ppl who play casually have to deal with afk squads and ppl who only open chests now
If Epic keep the token at this drop rate, I hope they realise that more people will hate this game than there was beforehand, people are already getting exhauted and playing other games
To compete against GTA 6, you need to actually acknowledge what your community wants
Either increase the odds every 2-3 days, or set a specific goal to reach for it, maybe 3000 chests
As of right now, no one will care for Chapter 8 and beyond if they feel like they wasted a month for nothing
