My favorite part the game was the speed at which EP40 came off the bench to celebrate #canucks #nhl #youlovetoseeit
Captain Wouters relives the perfect PK night, discusses setting up the next line with stong work in the o zone, is happy for Ty Mueller getting his 7th goal of the year, loves playing with Trey Fix-Wolansky rather than against and reminisces about 6 season in Abby #letsgoabby
Kole Lind chats postgame about having Cootes back in the lineup, discusses the aggressive system Coach Papaioannou employs, praises Fix-Wolansky and looks forward to the Abby Canucks 200th franchise regular season victory #letsgoabby #canucks #youlovetoseeit
Both of the Abbotsford Canucks goals against the Ontario Reign. There probably could have been a whole lot more if not for a stellar performance from Portillo in the Ontario net #letsgoabby #canucks #youlovetoseeit
Tolopilo is now tied for the league lead with his 6th victory tonight #letsgoabby #canucks #youlovetoseeit
Wouters on changing while cycling in the offensive zone: I think that's kind of you know, something we always talk about is setting the next lineup. I think it's what kind of builds the team you set your teammates up, they'll set you up back.
Sometimes you're the guy getting off where the guy hops on and scores. Sometimes you're the guy hopping on. So it's yeah, it's obviously big momentum to be able to roll lines, and to I guess, build momentum that way #LETSGOABBY
Wouters on the Canucks perfect PK: It's obviously something to take a lot of pride in as a group, it kind of you know, you can build a lot of momentum through kill and I think we obviously did a good job of that tonight we can. Obviously there's areas there's always areas to...
improve on, but I think yeah, it was obviously big to get the kill the 5 on 3 kill late in the third. It's, you know, it's always always nice to get that one for the guys and obviously Tolo was great too, you know, your goaltender is usually your best penalty killer #letsgoabby
Lind on Coach Papaioannou's offensive mindset: Obviously we have our positions off of faceoffs, but anyone can fill any position on the ice 5 on 5. So yeah, I love the offensive mindset our team has, and just having our D up in the rush, just creates a great gap for them for...
whenever the opponent gets the Puck back. And they can try kill plays in the neutral zone as fast as they can, so we can get back on the rush fast ##letsgoabby
Lind on Cootes return to lineup: He's really easy to play with great skater, good hands and good vision. We've got good chemistry, and we use each other well and try to find each other and scoring spaces, and just little pockets to open up space for other guys #letsgoabby
Canucks close out the Reign for their 8th straight win. They kill off a 5 on 3, Clayton and Brimmer break up plays, Tolopilo makes a number of amazing saves. Canucks win 2-1
2nd Period Summary: Canucks heavily outshoot the Reign 12-7 with numerous near misses from the likes of Patterson. Lots of offensive zone time with a healthy forecheck from the Canucks. Abby standing up at both blue lines and stopping rushes in the neutral zone. Canucks lead 2-1
Linesman waves off an icing call. Canucks get caught watching and the Reign tie the game 1-1. However 38 seconds later Lind feeds Fix-Wolansky and he restores the 1 goal lead. Cootes gets an assist in his return after getting the puck to Lind. Braeden now has 7 points in 7 games
Ty Mueller with is team leader 7th goal of the season put the Abbotsford Canucks up 1-0 with 1:06 left to go in the 1st period. Sawyer Mynio with a beauty of a seam pass to get it to him picking up his 6th assist #letsgoabby #Canucks
The Abbotsford Canucks score first for the 7th time this season playing in game number 11 #letsgoabby #canucks #youlovetoseeit
1st period Summary: Cootes get breakaway on first shift, gets set up by Fix on a back door play and has 2 on 1 with Lind but has not gotten on the scoresheet...YET! Wouters and Safonov are stopping all Reign attempts in all zones while Patterson and White got blocks
Tolopilo makes a save off a breakaway just over halfway thru the period. In a weird moment the Canucks knock down the puck with a highstick and then as they play the puck are in turn highsticked in the face but had touched the puck before the penalty could be called.
