Idea: Since we now have a #SCOTUS with some balls, someone should bring a case questioning the constitutionality of the Permanent Apportionment Act of 29โ€™. This heinous crime against democracy must be righted! #Congress is broken #UnCapTheHouse 3K reps to restore #America

Farming the government has been art for some time. I always told my neighbor, who loved to get a subsidy check in the mail from the gov, thatโ€™s welfare for the rich!
someone should just make an AI bot for Farmers on how to maximize all the government programs to their benefit - crop insurance, subsidies, grants, low carbon etc guarantee you that is more valuable to Farmers that donโ€™t find speculation or the storage game interesting at all

Nonstop bean cutting last night. Am I in Kansas?

This is a bad move. How much will off road go up in price? He should have done a tax holiday on clear.

Who decides the discount schedule on beans. A load of 13.1% beans got discounted 22ยข/bu. $225 per load?

What, IMO, people need to understand, and act on, is that our government has destroyed our currency. We as Americans have not been vigilant in the fight to restrain the "globalist, growth at any cost crowd". Then on top of that, the three devastating events, 9-11, 2008, and covid, allowed for reckless spending and war. We have been beat down.
I don't think people are really understanding today's inflation rate Pre covid: 20 yrs of inflation = 54% Since covid: 6.5 yrs of inflation = 29% 20 yrs at 4.6% = 146% Put another way, if we maintain this pace of inflation, a $500,000 house today will cost $1,250,000 in 2046

Seems like when fuel prices are high corn is also. It costs $20 more per acre for fuel but the gross is $200 higher.
$100 crude oil and $6.05 diesel are adding pressure to farm budgets. Creighton University economist Ernie Goss explains how energy costs are affecting equipment sales, exports and rural Main Streetโ€”and why ethanol could benefit. Watch: iowapbs.org/shows/mtom/markeโ€ฆ

I'm sure most everyone has fuel tanks full of $3 diesel fuel and all equipment and trucks have been full since June. But the refills are going to be a bitch. Question: Are you going to change your farming habits to conserve fuel? If yes, what will you change?
33%Yes, save fuel.
67%No, burn baby burn.

Link to the paper Andrew? The elephant in the room is biofuels. If we were not growing crops that we donโ€™t actually need to feed ourselves we could shrink agriculture by half.
From a recent paper: "There is now overwhelming evidence for the destructive effects of the industrial model of agriculture on Earthโ€™s life-support systems." What we all need to recognize is that ALL models of crop production that will actually feed us have these destructive effects - it's how crops are grown. The worst thing about agriculture is its use of land. Whether conventional, no-till, organic, or agroecological-regenerative, the biodiversity lost from initially clearing land for crops far outweighs any differences in farming systems. And what is a measure of land use efficiency? Yield. High yield=high land use efficiency for cropping.
