Love this for outfielders. So so easy for them to get complacent during simple drills, so adding as much difficulty as we can is crucial to force focus and precise actions.
Level up your outfield training w/ this drill 🎯⚾️

Want to be a great hitter? Listen to great hitters talk hitting
Here’s the full hour with Joey Votto and Alex Bregman. Joey said midway through that it felt like a masters-level course on hitting. If you want to understand how modern hitters think — and handle otherworldly stuff — this is a great place to start. youtube.com/watch?v=WaOgM2NV…

We built a tool based on Colorado players’ commitment data, and over 70% of guys commit after today’s date. Lots of runway left!
Mid-October reality for seniors who have heard nothing: you have not been rejected. Coaches told me on the record this year that there is no such thing as finished recruiting . players get found in the fall of senior year, the spring of senior year, and beyond. What kills a recruitment is not silence. It is stopping.

The @VeloBeam platform has QUICKLY become a cornerstone of what we do at @Rogue_Baseball. True player development means having things systematized for players and coaches, and Mitch absolutely crushes it with how he has built around that truth and the speed at which he iterates.
🚨NEW PODCAST EPISODE 🚨

Have always had a hard time getting young guys to be comfortable turning their upper bodies and releasing their feet to finish tags. The fix…..Kobe!

Those who are the best of the best have likely been that way for their whole lives. They have always been in a good enough position to think down on the ball to avoid too much length. This position and this thought become crucial against the best pitching.
When you get young players who are not this guy, it takes time to get them to positions that will then allow them to think down on the ball.
It takes time and work and weird constraints and not-real feels to get them there.
How bought in are you⁉️⚾️

This week's assignment: take your son to one college game this fall. Any division, in fact, make it a division he thinks is beneath him. Watch his face in the third inning. Then ask Harvell's question on the drive home: Honestly, could you play here? The answer, either way, is worth more than a showcase invoice.

The biggest advantage that a former pro athlete dad has over the others… a much stronger ability to see the long game. We’ve seen the game at every level, and the fun thing is, it hasn’t changed a bit. 😆 There’s too many people out there saying “it’s different now”…. It is not. Play the long game, accept the highs and lows, make good decisions, the road is gonna get hard if it hasn’t already and expect it to be so. Be that rock for your kid, it’s your duty.
