Scale kills it. One VLCC holds ~2 million barrels. A truck carries ~200. That’s 10,000 trucks per ship. Hormuz moves ~20 million barrels daily, so you’d need hundreds of thousands of truck runs every day. Musandam is steep mountains with almost no roads or terminals built for that. Loading, driving, unloading, and reloading at both ends would cost far more and take far longer than sailing the strait. Pipelines already exist for partial bypasses; trucks only work for tiny volumes.

One more post - no he didn’t. -A non-partisan audit found significant delays in rape kit testing under Kaul. -DNA backlogs have grown under him. -His crime lab has taken far fewer cases. -The mom of the child victim of one of the most heinous predators in state history, Halloween Killer Gerald Turner, accused Kaul of ignoring her concerns. He coldly walked away on video when asked about this. -He made a big hue and cry about testing rape kits but has obtained almost no convictions. -his office of crime victim services is a total mess. Okay, now I really must go to sleep but couldn’t let this one pass without response.
