Another Canadian company that got plenty of taxpayer money is moving to the States.
Trump has said that Bombardier will invest $270 million dollars into the U.S.
Our Government must be scrambling this morning after hearing this. Unless they already knew and are figuring out how to play damage control.
Please don't import these habbits and practices to Canada.
(Sadly, it looks like we do)
🚨SHOCKING!! WHAT'S HAPPENING IN ENGLAND ⚠️
Man arrested for wearing a cap with the country's flag and for holding a sign that said "Save our children" ⚠️They taped his mouth shut with adhesive tape so he couldn't say anything.
In England, people ARE GOING TO JAIL for loving their country and defending children ‼️
If this doesn't terrify you, then you're simply not paying attention. 😳🛑
Here is the AI situation in the United States, and why Canada and Europe are in trouble.
AI is being developed rapidly in the US and China. It will create enormous wealth and prosperity. People and organizations that adopt it early will accumulate massive wealth; most of the rest of the population will not. At the same time, AI is going to disrupt the majority of jobs and companies everywhere.
The Chinese government will use AI to raise the standard of living of its own population. American AI frontier labs will share a meaningful portion of the wealth with the American public—most likely through equity donations (perhaps 10–20% of Anthropic, SpaceX, OpenAI, and other leading companies). The AI billionaires and trillionaires do not want to risk losing their heads.
They will not share that wealth with the rest of the world. The rest of the world will still face the disruption.
The people of Canada and Europe are therefore in a difficult position.
What Alberta should do is build AI data centers as fast as possible—while the window is still open, and before it becomes cheaper to deploy them in space. We have roughly a 10–20 year window.
RIP BioWare.
The studio that gave us Mass Effect, Dragon Age, and KOTOR just got shut down by EA — and the next Mass Effect was cancelled with it.
They were from Edmonton. I’m from Alberta. This one hurts, and brings old memories.
Keelah se’lai. 🇨🇦
The video games studio Bioware is shutting down...
I remember them from the excellent first Baldor's Gate (1999)
I recall trying to apply to work there in 2002 or 2003.
Now they are shutting down.
Do you think it died of the Woke mind virus?

The Palestinian education system must change.
Canada and the EU must make sure of it, since they fund it with our tax dollars.
My heart and prayers are with the children and women affected by today’s terrorist attack by Palestinian Islamist jihadists on civilians near Hebron. Radical antisemitic education in the West Bank (Judea and Samaria), and the Palestinian Authority’s failure to confront it, are allowing this to happen again and again.
Elon is now one of the owners of CNN.
Elon Musk just invested $1 BILLION in Skydance, the company that bought Warner Bros. Discovery and now controls CNN.
I genuinely don’t think today could possibly get any better. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I recently learned that "I'm not an antisemite, only an anti-Zionists" is not a new idea.
Thsi was common in Soviet propaganda in the 1960s, 1970s.
Remember Natan Sharansky?
Zionism is both historic and spiritual; the ancient connection of the Jewish people to the land of Israel and their right to self-determination in their historic homeland.
I am British by birth, belonging and love; Jewish by inheritance, memory and faith. Britain is my country. Israel is not a competing loyalty, it is the homeland of the Jewish people to which I am bound by ancestry, memory and identity.
For millions of Jews, that is the heart of Zionism. Not supremacy, dispossession or the killing of Palestinians and not a colonial claim to a foreign land but the self-determination of a people with an ancient and continuous connection to it. In practice, it must mean two peoples entitled to self-determination both living in security and freedom with neither people’s future purchased with the lives, rights or humanity of the other.
That is why declaring “Zionism is racism” is not merely wrong, it tells most Jews that their understanding of their own history, identity and collective freedom is itself morally suspect. The Greens should ask themselves whom they are trying to please by adopting a slogan that turns Jewish self-determination into a moral stain. If your politics of inclusion requires millions of Jews to renounce a central part of their history and identity before they qualify for your solidarity, it isn’t inclusion. You are telling Jews: you may belong here but only if you disown Israel as the homeland of the Jewish people. That is not anti-racism. It is imposing a political test on Jews that no genuinely progressive movement would dream of imposing on any other minority.
The value of a paycheck has declined significantly when measured in a relatively non-deflationary asset such as gold.
There are two main reasons this has not led to widespread unrest:
1. The devaluation of the dollar has created the illusion that salaries are rising, as nominal wages increase even while real purchasing power falls.
2. Technological innovation and productivity gains have lowered the cost of producing many goods and services, partially offsetting the decline in real wages.
Want to have your mind blown?
In 1971, the median household income was $9,030, or 220 ounces of gold.
In 2025, it was $87,460, or just 25 ounces of gold.
Your paycheck went up 10x.
Measured in gold, it fell 88%.
To earn what the median household earned in 1971, you’d need about $890,000 per year today.
That’s what fiat debasement looks like.

France riots summary:
Fiscal backdrop
France has one of the highest public spending levels in the developed world (~57% of GDP). Social protection and health alone account for roughly 59% of total government spending (and are projected to keep rising), with pensions as the largest single component. Public debt stands at about 119% of GDP (among the highest in the EU) and is projected to climb further toward 122% by 2027 amid persistent deficits around 5% of GDP and weak growth. The state is fiscally strained; room for major new spending is limited.Thetwocents.substackEudebtmap
How the unrest developed
Students first: From mid/late September, high-school students protested chronic teacher shortages, overcrowded classrooms, and dilapidated lycées. The movement spread quickly, with school blockades and some early violence. Demands focused on more resources for education. The government later promised ~3,000 extra supply teachers. (Personally, I don't think it was justified given the welfare budget.)
Broader protests: On 17 October, hundreds of thousands marched nationwide against the cost of living and declining public services (official estimate ~550,000; unions claimed higher). Most marches were peaceful.
Violence and looting: Fringe groups—primarily ultra-left “black bloc” militants, and opportunistic criminals—hijacked the events. City halls were attacked (Limoges town hall largely burned), shops were looted (thousands damaged), cars and public buildings were set alight. Over 2,000 people were arrested; hundreds of police were injured. Authorities blamed radical far-left elements (including groups linked to or encouraged by France Unbowed/LFI circles) plus ordinary looters. Many looters were young men from disadvantaged suburbs (banlieues), a demographic that includes second- and third-generation immigrants of North African origin, mostly Muslims, though France does not publish ethnic statistics on arrestees.
My conclusion and suggestions to North America:
- Economic growth is important.
- Controlling government spending and debt is important, even if it's not popular.
- Social benefit will not guarantee social stability.
- Controlled immigration is better than open borders.
- Immigrants need to be integrated into society.
Carney gave $2.3 billion of taxpayer money to Telesat. To develop an alternative to Starlink.
I have no problem with competition.
But with taxpayer money?
Replying to @RonSFriedman @RichardRoy75077
Telesat (TSAT) is publicly traded. Largest owners are Canada’s Public Sector Pension Investment Board (~35.7%) and MHR Fund Management (~35.5%).
Mark Carney has a long-standing personal friendship with CEO Dan Goldberg (former running partners). Government statements say Carney is ethics-screened from all Telesat decisions and has not participated; opposition has questioned the ties amid contracts.
