Parliament Fulfils Its Pledge of UGX 3bn Towards Cancer Run 2026.
@Parliament_Ug has fulfilled its pledge to the 15th @UgRotaryCancerP Run of UGX 3 billion.
The funds are going towards the construction and equipping of the Cancer Treatment Centre @NsambyaHospital.
The contribution was announced this morning by the Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Jacob Markson Oboth (@ObothOboth) during a meeting to activate the 15th edition of the Cancer Run at Parliament.
The UGX 3 billion contribution is a significant boost to this year’s fundraising campaign with a target of UGX 5 billion.
Parliament has been a longstanding partner of the @UgRotaryCancerP.
With this latest contribution, its cumulative support to the cancer initiative now stands at UGX 10.2 billion since the campaign began, demonstrating sustained institutional commitment to the national fight against cancer.
The 15th edition of #CancerRunUg26 will take place on Sunday, 30 August 2026, at the Kololo Ceremonial Grounds, with runs taking place across 62 cities and towns nationwide, as well as in countries where Uganda maintains an embassy or consulate.
