Treat assumptions as hypotheses, not facts.
That means:
Identify the assumption behind an argument.
Separate facts from interpretations.
Test the assumption against evidence, including inconvenient or contradictory evidence.
Update the conclusion when new information warrants it.
Distinguish confidence from certaintybeing plausible doesn't make something true.
Check chronology and context, especially when analysing history, politics, economics, or policy.
Avoid forcing new evidence into an old framework simply because the framework was previously convincing.
In other words, the goal isn't to defend a conclusion; it's to find out whether the conclusion survives scrutiny.

You go to a place like Ikoyi, one of the most expensive areas in Lagos, and you find an office in an apartment inside one of those big ass buildings in the district. The yearly rent for these apartments runs into millions of naira.
What does this office do? They’re head office for a business that supplies Arabian tea. The office has just 6 employees, and they all pull up to work in GLE, Gwagons and Lexus SUVs. You could spend 12 months in that building and only six people would ever walk into this office for business.
Or you go to a mall in VI, where the yearly rent for some shops runs into millions of naira. What’s this particular shop selling? Fancy kitchen utensils.
Every single time you visit the mall, you never find a customer in that shop. Yet, year after year, you find the shop still operating, with fancy attendants earning big bucks every month. No customers.
Then you start asking yourself: how are these businesses affording the rent when it’s clear they aren’t selling anything?
The maths won’t be mathing because you likely don’t know what’s going on. 👇

If we treated Nigeria the way we treat our personal businesses, by now, we would have fired and blacklisted most of our leaders, past and present.
Imagine running a company where management repeatedly fails to deliver, wastes resources, misses targets, and keeps making excuses. How long would you keep those people in charge? Yet, when it comes to running a country, we sometimes make excuses for the very things we would never tolerate in our own businesses.
Leadership should come with targets, accountability, and consequences for failure. In a democracy, the consequences of failure are felt during the election period.
We can do better. Yes, we can.

PRESS STATEMENT
FROM THE OFFICE OF THE NATIONAL PUBLICITY SECRETARY
NIGERIA DEMOCRATIIC CONGRESS, NDC
OBI IS COMING. BRING JOY TO NIGERIANS DESPITE THE FAILURES OF APC
NDC commends Flamingos, ask them to win FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup and bring joy to millions of Nigerians.
THE Nigeria Democratic Congress, ND tfC, has commended the female U-17 national football team, the Flamingos, on their qualification for the first-ever FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup final by an African team.
Flamingos soared into history by drubbing Samba Queens of Brazil 3-1, in a match that the dreaded South Americans had no chance. It was the Brazilians' first loss in the competition in Morocco.
The NDC National Publicity Secretary, Osa Director, Esq, in a statement praised the young ladies for their resilience that saw them rising from a 2-1 loss to Poland in their opening game at the competition to demolishing opponents.
You did our country proud. Your victories have lifted Nigerians from the hunger, poverty, and sadness that the ruinous policies of the ruling party has imposed on them.
The journey to the final was impressive and deep. The 3-1 defeat of two-time U17 champions, DPR Korea in the group stage, was DPR Korea's first loss in eight years. Then, the Flamingos dealt with a line up of South Americans - Mexico 2-1 in the Round of 16, Venezuela 1-0 in the quarter-finals then Brazil 3-1.
As they prepare for Saturday's grand final against Japan, the NDC National Publicity Secretary advised the team to focus on the final and bring the Cup home.
The NDC and Nigerians are fully behind you.
A new Nigeria is POssible with NDC.
Signed

ENGAGING WITH THE UNITED NATIONS: UPHOLDING DEMOCRACY AND THE PEOPLE’S MANDATE
After I met with the European Union Commission yesterday, 5th November 2026, I welcomed a United Nations delegation to the Obidient House in Abuja for a courtesy visit.
Our discussions addressed pressing concerns facing Nigeria, including the current cost-of-living crisis, the well-being of our citizens, and the credibility of the upcoming elections.
I also used the occasion to urge the international community to uphold Nigerians’ democratic right to choose their leaders peacefully in the next elections through a free, fair, and credible process that genuinely reflects the will of the people. The international community must remain steadfast in protecting this democratic principle.
I appreciate the United Nations delegation, led by Leonardo Santos Simão, former Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Mozambique and currently the Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General for West Africa, as well as his team, for their visit and the productive exchange.
A new Nigeria is POssible. -PO

I know one of your sons Dumo Lulu Briggs is running for Governorship seat under the NDC. Yes we want our son to be a Governor, but we must be realistic, as it is today, he cannot be Governor under NDC, it’s not possible. If it were APC or PDP maybe we would’ve considered him since he’s in the coalition.
But you have a son who is going as a Deputy Governor under the APC, that one is certain
