The bar for DA supporters is embarrassingly low. You pay exorbitant municipal bills for basic services. I don’t congratulate Woolies for selling me meat that isn’t rotten. That’s the bare minimum, not an achievement.
The DA prioritised tourism over industrialisation, spending millions on “touro-ganda” to attract tourists and digital nomads. Meanwhile, ordinary Capetonians are being priced out of their own city. The cost of living rises while locals pay the price for these priorities.

Me, I live in a wealthy suburb and the DA is allowing foreigners to essentially pillage the place for airbnbs & price out the locals. They’re doing nothing to help the homeless in the area, they made promises years ago for affordable housing in the area- to date, nothing.
