Cynics may disagree but the Duke and Duchess of Sussex do seem serious about reconciling with the Royal Family. They are prepared to apologise if necessary and will not undertake public charity visits while the King and William are abroad on trips.

Harry and Meghan are back in Nottingham for their first joint public appearance since they moved backed to Britain. It’s where they undertook their first joint public duties after getting engaged in 2017. Of course, these days they don’t represent the monarchy.
Interest in them may wain over time but it’s natural that this is a hot topic at the moment. Royal insiders are resigned to the monarchy being seen through the lens of the Sussexes’ return for now. It might have been similar If the Duke and Duchess of Windsor had done the same.
