Another heartbreaking tragedy hits the Ghanaian community in New York 💔🇬🇭
24-year-old Ghanaian youth Joseph Owusu has been found dead at a dumpsite in the Bronx, New York, roughly two weeks after he was reported missing.
Reports indicate that his body was tragically discovered by a scrap collector among the trash.
Joseph was a cherished member and dedicated organist at the Ghana United Methodist Church in the Bronx, where his talent and warm spirit brought comfort to many.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family, church community, and loved ones during this devastating time.

I noticed how these Africans are speaking up now that they believe a Foundational Black American killed young Javits Frimpong.
However, they are mighty silent when police kill them, or otherwise brutalize them.
For instance:
These documented cases include fatal shootings, serious injuries, and court findings of excessive force.
• Gregory Habib — Ghana: Died after a police traffic-stop arrest in Maryland, 1989.
• Martin Habib — Ghana: Survived the same encounter with a broken jaw.
A civil jury found police used excessive force against both brothers.
• Amadou Diallo — Guinea: Unarmed; NYPD fired 41 shots, hitting him 19 times, 1999. Officers acquitted.
• Ousmane Zongo — Burkina Faso: Unarmed art restorer killed by NYPD, 2003. Officer convicted.
• Mohamed Bah — Guinea: Killed by NYPD, 2012. Civil jury found excessive force.
• Abdi Mohamed — Somalia: Survived multiple police gunshots in Utah, 2016.
• Alfred Olango — Uganda: Killed by California police, 2016. Prosecutor ruled shooting justified.
• Patrick Lyoya — DR Congo: Shot in the back of the head by Michigan police, 2022.
• Irvo Otieno — Kenya: Died at Virginia’s Central State Hospital on March 6, 2023, age 28. Handcuffed and shackled, he was pinned down by sheriff’s deputies and hospital staff for about 11 minutes. His death was ruled homicide by asphyxiation.
I remember the video of Patrick Lyoya and how his father cried and said, in so many words, that he thought the US was the land of freedom where he and his family would be safe.
Another 12 yr old girl has been shot in the Bronx, the same neighbourhood where Javits Frimpong was shot. Police suspect a gang related shootout. Thankfully, she is in stable condition, but two gunmen remain on the run.
What the actual fuck is going on? How many more innocent children must become victims before those in power wake up?
We keep talking about the future, yet we are failing to protect the very children who are supposed to inherit it. Where is the leadership? Where is the accountability? Who is protecting these kids?
This is absolutely unacceptable. A 12-year-old should never have to experience this.
