GM Roughnecks! Institutional adoption of Bitcoin is good. Institutional control over Bitcoin is bad. Hope that clears up some confusion

This is a very important point. I've spent the last 12 months critiquing Core as objectively as I can, while remaining fully allocated to the asset. That's not a contradiction. That's what honest scrutiny looks like from someone with skin in the game. The response has been instructive. I've been told I'm an idiot who doesn't understand Bitcoin. That I'm a bad actor. That I'm personally attacking developers, when every critique I've made has been structural. People doing less technically rigorous work have been welcomed into the community because they stayed quiet on governance. I've been kept at arm's length for the same reason. What's clarifying about this is that the reaction pattern is the proof. A healthy decentralized network doesn't need its critics to be discredited. It doesn't need governance scrutiny treated as an attack on the protocol. The fact that it does tells you something about what the network has actually become. Bitcoin was designed so that no single party could capture it. That turned out to be a technical claim, not a social one. The social layer has different failure modes, and we're in one of them.

Massive credit to Alphamine for getting this done As of today, Alphapool no longer offers paid public stratumv1 This is a huge win for decentralization of bitcoin mining
XBT.AlphaPool.Tech has officially closed our Public Free-Trial DATUM Endpoints! 🎉 As of 10/16/26 12PM EDT any miners using the Pool Hosted Failover Public Endpoints pay a 25% >> 100% escalating fee (24hrs - 96hrs). Miners who have not yet setup up their own nodes+DATUM will now be paying a 100% Fee donating the proceeds to the DATUM miners of the pool. If you see the below message on your individual miner dashboard? You need to get your own node+DATUM setup right away! Please see👉xbt.alphapool.tech/start and let me know if you have any questions or need support running your own node!

A pattern is emerging in the responses to CAPTURE: The Machine. Joe Nakamoto: “Saved you a click. Old news.” Now Jonathan Bier, CEO of Farside Investors, posting as @FarsideInsights: “TLDR. Already widely publicised.” Same straw man. Same dismissal. Reduce an investigation to one already-public fact, then declare the entire thing old news. But that's precisely the point of CAPTURE. The individual facts were often public. What matters is the picture that emerges when you put the editorial conflicts, disclosure failures, policy exemptions, financial arrangements, institutional relationships, and timelines together. Break that picture back into isolated facts, and each becomes easier to dismiss. Worth noting: Bier sits on Brink's board, administers Bitcoin developer grants, and personally answered questions for the CAPTURE investigation about Brink's internal governance. He's not an outside observer of the institutional structures this series examines. Don't trust. Verify.
CAPTURE Part 4: THE MACHINE The fourth and final installment is out. Bitcoin Magazine wasn’t just covering the fight over Bitcoin’s future. Its parent operated an Ordinals trading desk, invested in businesses tied to the ecosystem, and maintained editorial policies that exempted parts of that same business. Then came an $80,000/month marketing contract, with an option for Nakamoto Inc. to buy BTC Inc at a valuation tied to its earnings, in a window that included the OP_RETURN fight. Nakamoto exercised the option. Readers were not consistently told about these commercial relationships. A documented investigation into the commercial interests and media infrastructure surrounding the Bitcoin Core controversy. citadel21.com/the-machine

“Saved you a click.” What a remarkable phrase from someone in Bitcoin. Joe just: Reduced a documented investigation to one somewhat familiar fact. Pretended it's the entire investigation. Declared it old news. Told people not to bother reading. Don't examine the evidence. Don't follow the sources. Don't verify the claims. Just trust an influencer's summary. Quite the evolution from “don't trust, verify.”
saved you a click: UTXO mgmt had investments in Ordinals. Yes, this is well known and old knews. funny though - i did an exposé of ordinals in 2024 (see video)... and guess who funded it?

How Hodlonaut is treated is the canary in the coal mine for Bitcoin. Things are not going well, to put it mildly.
Ask yourself why certain accounts immediately start attacking, lying and defaming one of the precious few people who report on the schemes of the ruling Bitcoin clique, just before the last article in the Capture series is released...
