Uganda High Commission Dar-es-salaam participated in the #CancerRunUg26 where they joined Ugandans and friends of Uganda in Tanzania in the 15th edition of the Cancer Run 2026, held under the theme “#GwangaMujje.” The participation was part of the wider mobilisation by Uganda’s diplomatic missions abroad to support the national campaign against cancer. Uganda’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs encouraged missions to organise mini-runs in their respective host countries, extending the campaign beyond Uganda’s borders. The 2026 Cancer Run, held on 30 August 2026, aimed to raise resources towards the completion and equipping of the Cancer Treatment Centre at St. Francis Hospital Nsambya, including advanced radiotherapy equipment. Through its participation, the Uganda High Commission in Dar es Salaam reaffirmed its commitment to health diplomacy, cancer awareness, fundraising and strengthening solidarity among Ugandans in the diaspora.
