Agree. Cybercab is useless without autonomy. A separate FSD subscription makes no sense. I think Tesla will monetize this via the purchase price + revenue share on the network, not a monthly FSD fee.

🚨 BREAKING: Tesla App renames ā€˜Self-Driving’ to ā€˜Assisted Driving’. With the latest 4.62.0 update, the stats screen and controls now show ā€˜Assisted Driving Stats’ and ā€˜Start Assisted Driving’ instead of the previous Self-Driving wording. Same mileage tracking and streaks, new terminology. #Tesla #TeslaApp #FSD #AssistedDriving #FullSelfDriving #TeslaUpdate #ElonMusk

You can still raise the set speed manually with the scroll wheel (or temporarily apply an offset) during the drive. It’s an extra step, not a hard speed cap. In practice it’s a minor inconvenience. Still very usable, not perfect but no crap either.

Read again, because you clearly didn’t read it correctly or didn’t understand and get lost and live your life as you want.

Markets do change, but this isn’t the same as a car price drop. When Tesla lowers the price of a car, the buyer still owns a better (or similar) product that they paid more for at the time. With FSD, people who paid €7,500 for permanent access are now watching others get months of free use while their own payback period just keeps stretching. That’s a different kind of dilution. A small gesture for the early buyers would still be fair.

Given its current capabilities and limitations, and the competition arriving in a few months, €99 a month is far too expensive for many people. So, the idea that there will be more subscription options is just an assumption; it seems more likely to me that the price will come down. At the very least, Tesla could allow buyers to transfer the feature to their next Tesla, which strikes me as very fair. Otherwise, I’d have to keep my car much longer than I originally intended, just to avoid throwing money away.
