"The years we have gone through have killed something in us. That something is the confidence man had in himself, which always led him to believe he could elicit human reactions from another man if he spoke to him in the language of humanity." -A. Camus, The Year of the Plague

Theranos has been the story of one woman, her voice, her turtleneck and her lies. But if Elizabeth Holmes was the one in charge, why does every road lead back to Larry Ellison? youtu.be/PgWNQH4FWNI?si=5aFV… via @thedreydossier

"The U.S. Military saw a good thing in '47 when the Roswell story broke. The more we denied it, the more people thought it was true - aliens had landed. A made-to-order cover story for generals looking to develop the national war chest." --The X Files

Now the Americans are screaming about demons and aliens. The Tuskegee Syphilis Study never ended, it just became normalised.

2 of 2 Setting the bit causes the engine to complete hardware initialization and then stop. Intel confirmed that the modification had been made at the request of equipment manufacturers supporting U.S. government evaluation of the NSA’s High Assurance Platform. It was not an officially supported configuration for ordinary customers. The same mechanism appears in me_cleaner as the HAP or AltMeDisable flag. At Black Hat Europe 2017 Mark Ermolov and Maxim Goryachy demonstrated that a buffer overflow reachable through the JTAG debugging interface on certain Skylake and later platforms allowed unsigned code to run on the Management Engine itself. Physical access was required. The resulting control extended to system memory, USB devices, and the network path even when the main operating system was not running. Google engineer Ronald Minnich, speaking at the Embedded Linux Conference the same year, described the combination of an independent network stack, file system, and privileged position as an unacceptable risk for Google’s servers and outlined work to replace as much of the proprietary firmware as possible with a small Linux kernel. No public evidence has shown that Intel itself used the Management Engine to monitor ordinary users. The documented remote-management functions require configuration and, in the known remote exploits, either local access or an exposed management interface. The architectural fact remains that the engine possesses capabilities the main operating system cannot observe or interrupt, that its firmware is closed, and that ordinary users have no supported method to remove or fully audit it. AMD’s Platform Security Processor and the secure enclave present in Apple silicon occupy analogous positions of early, privileged execution outside the reach of the host operating system. The thirty-minute timer, the HAP bit, the blank-password failure, and the unexpected appearance of a teaching microkernel were each discovered by independent researchers examining the same closed image. The discoveries map what the engine can do. They do not map what it has done on any particular machine. As we are entering into the AI assisted world the Management Engine will play a central role in illicit access to millions of computers.

seems like several of our technology Corps … not particularly skilled at tech, but spectacular at stealing, lying, threatening, etc. but also, they running these tech Corps on borrowed money, don’t care if they never pay it off. cannot compete with that. but destined to fail.
