ALT Abstract Background Sexual and gender minority (SGM) people may avoid or delay health care interactions. The minority stress model describes distal (discrimination, violence) and proximal (expectation of rejection, concealment, internalized self-dislike) stress processes as possible contributors to the health disparities and avoidance behaviors observed when encountered in health care settings. Pharmacies are accessible health care settings, yet the extent to which SGM individuals experience minority stress processes while using services at the pharmacies is unknown. Objective This scoping review aimed to identify distal and proximal minority stress processes experienced by SGM individuals and health care avoidance behaviors related to pharmacies or pharmacists.

ALT Parents’ intention to have their child vaccinated at a community pharmacy: A national cross-sectional survey. abstract Background: During the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic, pediatric vaccination rates for routine childhood vaccines have been declining. To boost pediatric immunizations, pharmacists in the United States may order and administer age-appropriate vaccines to children of 3 years of age and older without a prescription. Objective: The objective of this study was to examine parents’ intention to have their young children between 3 and 10 years of age vaccinated in a community pharmacy setting. Methods: A survey instrument was designed based on the health belief model (HBM). The cross-sectional survey was administered online via Qualtrics Panels to parents in the United States with at least 1 child between the ages of 3 and 10 years. Confirmatory factor analysis was used to estimate the correlation between each of the HBM constructs and a 3-item scale measuring parents’ in

ALT abstract Background: Adolescents should receive timely doses of recommended vaccinations. The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccination approval for adolescents presented an opportunity for community pharmacists to address gaps in adolescent immunization schedules. Objectives: The objectives of this research were to (1) identify adolescent immunization gaps, (2) identify number of patients receiving recommended vaccination(s) at the community pharmacy, and (3) determine how many vaccinations were administered after the intervention. Methods: Three pharmacies conducted the prospective intervention. Adolescents aged 11-17 years initiating the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccination series were eligible to receive a personalized vaccination recommendation (PVR), which included up to 3 other vaccinations. State immunization information systems were assessed after dose 1 of the COVID-19 vaccine to create the recommendation(s) and reassessed 6 months after providing the PVR for accepted r

ALT Leadership aspiration: An intersectional analysis of racial and gender equity in pharmacy. Abstract Background The glass ceiling is a metaphor used to describe an invisible barrier that prevents an underrepresented group from rising beyond a certain level. Among pharmacists, underrepresented groups face various barriers and limitations to their successes. Objectives The purpose of this study was to apply the intersectionality framework to data collected from the 2019 National Pharmacist Workforce Study (NPWS) to understand the association of gender and race with leadership aspiration among pharmacists, including differences in perceived barriers and attractors for pursuing leadership. Methods The 2019 NPWS was conducted using an electronic Qualtrics survey. Three e-mails containing the survey link were sent to a systematic random sample of 94,803 pharmacists through the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy Foundation e-profile system. The 2019 NPWS had an overall response rate of
