Earlier this week, the VCU Health Pauley Heart Center & VCU Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center hosted 350+ attendees from more than 25 countries for the 2026 Global Cardio-Oncology Summit in Williamsburg, Virginia. Led by our fearless co-chairs Fadi Salloum, PhD, Sr. Associate Dean for Research at VCU School of Medicine, and Wendy Bottinor, MD, MSCI, Medical Director of Pauley's Cardio-Oncology Program, summit attendees discussed innovation in cardio-oncology, including advances in AI, imaging, amyloidosis, cardiotoxicity prevention, and much more. Visit bit.ly/4jMFrGK for a GCOS recap. And a huge thank you to all the physicians, researchers, advanced practice providers, nurses, students, and more who made the trip to Williamsburg from across the globe! @VCUHealth @VCUMassey @ICOSociety #GCOS2026

Day 2 opened with the announcement of the Young Investigator Award winner, Dr. Joseph Wallins, followed by recognition of the finalists and a group photo. The program then moved into a session on precision exercise in cardio‑oncology, where discussions explored how behavioral and lifestyle approaches can strengthen patient engagement and how rehabilitation models are evolving across different care environments. The conversation emphasized individualized strategies, behavior‑driven support, and the growing attention to autonomic dysfunction and cancer‑related fatigue within survivorship pathways. The morning continued with the joint IC‑OS × @CancerCareMASCC session, which brought a global perspective to survivorship and cardiovascular health. The discussion highlighted disparities in access, the need for adaptable care models, and practical steps oncology teams can take to integrate cardiovascular risk assessment and management—even in resource‑limited settings. OncoDaily continues coverage of #GCOS2026 from Williamsburg as the summit unfolds. @ICOSociety @michellebnadler @mandeep_mayo @oscardneufville @RiveraTheurel @erin_howden @sdent_cardioonc @SALLOUMFN @VCUHealth

Our article is officially published highlighting the potential of physical activity to preserve cardiovascular health during cancer treatment ♥️ TONS of awesome teamwork in this pub. @VCUHealthHeart @VCUMassey @wakeforestmed
Physical activity (PA) declined during breast cancer (BC) therapy. However, PA participation was associated w/ attenuated declines in exercise capacity & cardiac function often observed in this population. bit.ly/3MoeCXT #JACCCardioOnc #CardioOnc #BCsm @moriah_RD
