Last Friday, I joined @RepRobertGarcia and my California colleagues for an unannounced oversight visit to the Adelanto ICE Processing Center. What we witnessed was appalling, and consistent with the neglect I have been sounding the alarm about for the past decade: filthy living conditions, dirty water, moldy food, tattered mattresses, and inadequate medical care. Every day Adelanto remains open is another day lives are in danger. SHUT IT DOWN NOW.

This is Emma Sulkowicz She was a Columbia student who spent months carrying the mattress she was raped on across campus in 2012 Can you imagine her rapist Paul Nungesser was never expelled or criminally charged So she decided she will carry the weight herself. Every day, across campus, in front of everyone the same thing happened at Cornell university Somehow the school failed to confront the 7 rapists, and the survivor was left carrying the weight

Columbia found Paul Nungesser not responsible after investigating Sulkowicz's allegation. The DA declined charges for insufficient evidence.
