Very ashamed I’ve had essentially no time to work on Chapter 6 since uploading Chapter 5… maybe when the break rolls around next month…🫠🫥
I still remember going through Overture and asking a friend who was further in, “will Romeo be ok? I’m getting worried.” And he basically hit me with this
All past failings aside, Chapter 5 will be posted later today, before September comes (at least in my timezone)
I’m a little below halfway on Chapter 5, at 6,400 words. The final chapter is expected to be around 12-13,000. Could be done before the end of July, but don’t count on it.
Can confidently say Chapter 5 will be done sometime before August 24th. 3 more main scenes to go, and some polishing. Currently over 9,000 words.
Sometimes I think about writing for Carmeo—I like them nearly as much as Promeo—but I don’t have the inspiration to write anything worthwhile for them 👐
It’s nothing that hasn’t been talked about already, but I really appreciate the soundscape of LoP (ambience, music, voice acting, effects, etc.). It’s extremely meaningful to my experience with it (and a shame that I can’t capture much of it in writing!)
I reviewed Broken Puppet’s voice lines earlier today and noticed that all of their reactions to the Overture emotes are just replayed dialogue from their base-game reactions…lazy! Gripes with that aside, I still love the VA work for the character (and all of the LoP cast really)
As a side note, I have a lot of cool concepts for Chapter 6. Unfortunately, most of them would be difficult to depict in a purely writing medium, so some of my more exaggerated ideas will probably be unusable. I will share what they were/are in future author notes.
Sometimes I see a fic with 100,000+ words and everything I could want in it and I’m just like wow we have some real contributors to society out there
