@NatGeoEducation this proud educator supported students to use and create maps when exploring our neighbour ravine. We observed the changing ravine monthly and challenged ourselves to follow a class created map. #ConnectingFurther #explore #getoutside

Thanks @NCGE1915 for chance to deliver conference keynote. What an inspiring meeting filled with innovative educators, many of whom are addressing social justice even in face of state pressure to do otherwise. Particularly enjoyed learning from @2892MilestoGo @MapM8ker @bplmaps

Spectacular & frightening all in one. Here is the Myrtle Beach State Park pier during the height of #HurricaneIan on Friday. The pier did suffer damage, and will be closed for repairs, but remains standing. @MyrtleBeachSP will reopen on Monday. SouthCarolinaParks.com

#HurricaneIan exposed old sand dune posts that were put in to help repair the sand dune damage from #HurricaneHugo in 1989. It's a bit heartbreaking to lose over 30 years of sand in a few hours. Nature is a powerful force.

Residents in low-lying areas prone to flooding, particularly along the coast, should have a plan to move to higher ground if their homes become unsafe. Protect yourself. Do not wait to be told to move. Today is not the day to flood around and find out. #HurricaneIan #scwx #Ian
