The UAW endorsed only one candidate in this race: Abdul El-Sayed. Our endorsement process is member driven. UAW members overwhelmingly chose to support Abdul because he's the ONLY candidate for U.S. Senate in Michigan that is aligned on our core issues -- and the only one that has ever showed up for UAW members when called on. Nobody else in this race can say that.
The UAW and I are aligned — Michigan’s manufacturing jobs should come BEFORE stockholder profits.

Everyone deserves a fair shot at rebuilding their life. That’s why I have worked to help returning citizens get the driver’s license and restored 400,000 Michiganders’ licenses so they could get on their feet, find a job, support their families, and be a full participant in civic and economic life. Removing barriers makes our communities stronger and gives people the opportunity to start fresh.

Working people are struggling. Prices on gas, groceries, rent, utilities - everything is skyrocketing. We need elected pro-worker candidates who will stand with workers and help create an economy that works for ALL of us. Make your plan to vote: betterinaunion.org

Here's UAW President Shawn Fain with Abdul El-Sayed talking trade and tariffs. This is why the UAW is proud to be an early endorser of El-Sayed for Michigan's next U.S. Senator.

Tomorrow, on October 1, the biggest transfer of wealth from the working class to the wealthy hits a critical milestone. Many of the provisions from the Big Ugly Bill will go into effect, harming hundreds of thousands of Michiganders in order to create tax cuts for the richest people in America. To name some of the worst... ✖️Medicaid and SNAP have been cut to deliver $4.5 trillion in tax cuts primarily for billionaires and corporations. ✖️Michigan is set to lose $2-3 billion annually in federal Medicaid and SNAP funding. ✖️The changes in this bill will eliminate tens of thousands of energy and manufacturing jobs in Michigan due to lost investment. ✖️Michigan hospitals will lose $6 billion in Medicaid payments by 2036. ✖️Over 200K Michiganders are set to lose healthcare. ✖️211,000 Michigan households will suffer from SNAP cuts. Nearly 121,000 Michiganders have already lost their SNAP benefits. ✖️Energy bills across Michigan will go up by a total of $8.7 billion by 2034.

John James could’ve voted to end the war in Iran that has driven gas up to $5… he voted to continue the war. John James could’ve voted to put a stop to these reckless tariffs… he voted to raise your costs. John James could’ve voted to protect your healthcare… he voted to cut it 3 times. John James could’ve stood up for you… he stood with Trump.
