Fun 30 days at our agency
- Client 1: 7-figure ecom founder just had his first $100k month from organic search. He was at $10k/month when he started with us.
- Client 2: 8-figure ecom founder started SEO with us a month ago. Already #1 on Google for a keyword tied to a product with a $30,000+ AOV.
- Client 3: 7-figure ecom founder sold a $55,000 product off a keyword we ranked #1. The keyword gets 10 searches a month.
- Client 4: apparel brand's organic traffic and revenue tanked after an algorithm update in the spring. We recovered the entire drop, and the first month of their busy season is up 30% year over year.
- Client 5: tried other agencies and saw no success. 2 months in with us, their top keywords are cracking the 1st page.
- Client 6: 6 months in, officially showing up in every major AI model for every one of our target prompts.
Great way to end the month
Me in high school:
- Taught myself SEO
- Grew my blog to 100,000 page views/month
- Monetized it with Google AdSense ads and Amazon affiliate links
- Was making about $1k/month from it by my sophomore year
- Funded my first couple years of drinking in college with that blog
Me today:
- Running a $2.5M/year SEO agency
- Leading a team that's gotten results for 100+ ecom brands
- Took a brand from $50k to $100k/month in 6 months
- Another brand now making more revenue from AI than from organic search
- Sober since December 26th, 2018
- Life is absolutely unrecognizable
If you want to grow your ecom brand's organic revenue, you need to build Collection pages like your life depends on it.
A chocolate brand came to me a month ago.
They wanted more visibility in Google for gifting keywords.
So I built out Collection pages targeting every gifting keyword I could find:
> chocolate gift boxes
> chocolate birthday gifts
> christmas chocolate gifts
> corporate chocolate gifts
> chocolate gifts for her
> chocolate gifs for him
For each page, all I did was:
Add the keyword to the meta title, meta description, H1 tag, and URL slug.
And add ~500 words of keyword-optimized content.
That's it.
No links yet.
One of those pages have already hit the 1st page of Google.
The rest are just starting to get indexed.
Next, I'm going to build a few links to each page.
Give it a month or two, and they should be in the top-5 spots.
Right in time for the holiday season.
These pages are going to print money.
I sat down with an 8 figure ecom brand owner.
His goal was to grow his organic revenue and increase visibility in AI models.
Here are the 9 lessons I gave him:
8. Don’t copy and paste AI content.
I’ve seen brands get manual action penalties for it and lose almost all of their organic traffic overnight.
Use AI to create the first draft.
Then edit it yourself and add what AI can’t:
Your expertise and real detail.
9. Publish “best X” listicles.
Good SEO gets you 50-60% of the way into AI search.
The rest is “best X” listicles.
Enter your target prompts into an AI model, see which listicles it cites, and get your product featured #1 on listicles just like them.
It’s really easy to grow a site’s overall organic traffic.
The hard part is growing traffic that actually converts into sales.
I’ve seen a brand getting 100,000 clicks a month from organic search, and almost none of it converted.
It was the wrong type of traffic.
So don’t judge an SEO campaign by how much traffic it’s driving.
Judge it by how much revenue it’s driving.
