Incredibly sad news. Sending condolences to loved ones, colleagues and the ASLEF trade union at this awful time.
Our thoughts tonight are with the family and friends of the driver who died in the crash near Bedford today, and with the passengers injured in the accident. We want to thank the emergency services who responded so quickly to help those on board and are still at the scene.

Don’t wait. Don’t wait to live, to love, to notice the small things— Because one day you’re fine… And the next— everything changes. I asked, “Why me?” They said, “Bad luck.” No reason. No warning. Just one moment— splitting life in two: before… and after. @richardsudan

Great news but a shame we can't simply call it the England Coast Path. Lop off the Royal attachment. Same with the Second Severn Crossing.

While hundreds of staff have left University of Edinburgh amid £140m of budget cuts, senior managers spent £111,736 on travel and accommodation over the same period. These are not abstract numbers. They represent real jobs, real students, and real priorities. heraldscotland.com/news/2577…

One of the funniest sights of over-the-wall botanising is where someone has planted a young individual, thinking it to be a dwarf conifer. The most commonly made mistake is with Cedrus deodara (left). Then it turns into a triffid (right).
