🏴 519 - Turnberry pitch and putt.
Brilliant fun in the sun following in the footsteps of Jack and Tom.
Also introduced Derek to the joy of hickories.

My first time playing the ‘King Bobby’ at Turnberry since it was the Kintyre. The enhancements to holes 8-11 are sensational, this coastal stretch had a real feel of Castle Stuart or Renaissance. Impossibly glorious for November, what a day!
Many thanks to Colin McKellar.

@BoatofGartenGC - my favourite course was simply sensational today; snowy mountains, blue skies, glowing. autumnal trees, and in such remarkable condition for any time of the year let alone nearly November.
Golfing perfection!
The rain and wind kept on coming but it didn’t dampen my enjoyment of @LongsideGC.
Numerous holes are influenced by watery penalty areas and the 14th, a par 3 between towering pines, is rightly the signature. This parkland stood up
impressively well to the deluge today.

Ok, it was mighty dreich but I still loved the 9 hole Rosehill @FraserburghGolf. Shaped by Braid’s hand the terrain is flatter than the famed 18 holer but still engaging. On a day when pars felt like birdies, I so nearly made an albatross ace at 7 - just 2 feet short. 🦅✅

A blowy but brilliant afternoon with John yesterday on the Silverburn @RoyalAberdeenPS - so many good holes especially the opening 5 hole loop and 17 is unquestionably championship worthy. Impeccable condition as you’d expect from such a venerable Club.
Top class!

The Swailend is the second course @NewmacharGC but don’t equate this with it being a pushover. Thoughtfully bunkered, subtly contoured with water in play at the par 5 8th, the Swailend is both playable and searching. Newmachar is a tremendous 36 hole venue.

The 9 hole Blairs @DeesideGolfClub exudes easy on the eye elegance.
Narrow canyons of mighty trees demand consistent accuracy over a pleasing mix of two par 5s, three par 4s and four par 3s.
This classy course belongs in the upper echelon of Scottish 9 holers.

Kemnay (Beechbank) is a neat and tidy six hole par 3 course. Most holes are around 140 yards with only one under 100. Remarkably, I had three birdie 2s in a row at 3-5. Very impressive set up @KemnayGolfClub, I really liked this wee course, which is lottery funded.

My first game @GiffordGolfClub since the ‘90s. So impressed with the firm fairways and the sensational greens - hard to fathom how slick they are downhill or off slopes. Twice round so different tees on some holes but the incredible greens remained perfectly true and so rapid.

@Renaissancegc keeps getting better and better. The tree clearance especially is a massive enhancement, the course is more exposed, more visible, more linksy.
Doak’s greens remain challenging.
We had the best day on an unforgettable golf course.

Wonderful to return to a blowy Luffness New, one of East Lothian’s most venerable venues. The Old Tom Morris links was, as always, in perfect condition.
Also played the Wee Course beforehand with the hickories.
Many thanks Mary Lou for your help.

A stunning early morning at Longniddry; incredibly, my first round at my home Club since early June!

Greenock is gorgeous golfing ground, rising and falling, twisting and turning; no 2 holes play the same, but the views consistently wow.
The Big Course is arguably underrated and perhaps less frequented than a course of this quality and charm ought to be.

Port Glasgow, an outstandingly scenic moorland sitting high and handsomely far above the Clyde.
