As @SenatorShaheen and @SFRCdems lay out in our new report, the Trump Admin's cuts to our diplomatic infrastructure have undermined America's ability to compete with China.
Congress must act quickly to reverse the damage and preserve America's ability to lead and compete.
ICYMI: @SenatorShaheen sat down with @ForeignPolicy to talk about her storied career, navigating President Trump’s second term and the future of bipartisanship in America.

Vladimir Putin is a war criminal. He is a murderous dictator who has killed thousands of Ukrainians in unspeakable acts of brutality.
These comments are disgusting and shameful.
NEW: @SenatorShaheen welcomes the release of Steven Hubbard from Russian detention:
“I’m relieved that Mr. Hubbard is finally coming home. But make no mistake: he never should have been detained—and his long overdue release does not suddenly make Putin a ‘humanitarian.’”
Today, @SenatorShaheen led a bipartisan group of senators in calling for Serbian authorities to ensure the upcoming parliamentary elections are free and fair, amid reports of threats to the electoral process.

It was an honor to join this morning’s James W. Foley Run in remembrance of Jim Foley. Jim’s courage continues to inspire us all, and receiving the James Foley Hero Award today was especially humbling—and a powerful reminder of his bravery.
Congrats to all of today's runners!

Beyond irresponsible. What part of enforcing a law passed 86-11 by the Senate does the President and his advisors not understand? It’s unconscionable that this administration is capitulating to a Russian dictator who illegally invaded Ukraine and butchers innocent civilians every single day. If the President wants to actually bring down energy prices, he can do it by solving the Iran problem, not by doing a solid for Vladimir Putin.

“Ukraine is fighting for its survival. Starshield, a vital lifeline, has been slowed, while Putin continues to bombard Ukrainian cities with ballistic missiles.
Congress was clear: this is no time to ease the pressure on Putin. It is time to increase it.” -@SenatorShaheen

Donald Trump is using Ukraine as a scapegoat for the high energy prices American families are facing as a result of his war in Iran.
Make no mistake, America still stands with Ukraine. It’s Donald Trump who is shifting away from them.
“These restrictions on Ukraine’s access to Starshield must stop immediately. Lives are at stake. The Pentagon is also required to notify Congress if it pauses or downgrades intelligence sharing with Ukraine. If that happens, @SecWar must provide that immediately.”-@SenatorShaheen
While Musk owns SpaceX which controls Starlink systems and can impose restrictions on them in Ukraine, those that began overnight are on the Starshield military version of the system controlled by the Pentagon. This suggests the decision to limit the speed of the Starshield systems was made within the Trump administration. ft.com/content/37085602-726a…

Soaring oil prices due to @POTUS’ Iran war are leading too many to fall behind on their home heating bills.
Families cannot afford another winter of high utility bills, but that’s exactly what they are facing because of this Administration’s actions.

The only way the war in Ukraine will end is if Putin gets serious about negotiating, and that’s not going to happen so long as he keeps playing President Trump like a fiddle.
Clearly, the ceasefire that @POTUS declared is not being upheld.
A Russian ballistic missile attack on Kyiv. Once again, no early warning from our partners. The main target was energy infrastructure, specifically CHPP-4. Unfortunately, it was hit. A residential building was also damaged, and rescuers are currently putting out a fire there. Our systems detected these missiles only when they were already virtually on approach to Kyiv. CHPP-4 is one of Kyiv’s key energy facilities.
According to our intelligence, the Russians are preparing further ballistic missile launches. The facts show that the Russians do not consider themselves bound by what the President of the United States said. Ukraine supported an energy ceasefire. Russia is targeting yet another power plant and the lives of our people.
And this is absolutely unjust: when they are destroying our energy infrastructure, and Ukraine is not even receiving early warnings about ballistic missile launches. It is important that the world does not stay silent about this. And it is important that the United States really see what is happening and who is responsible for this war continuing.
Please stay safe tonight and tomorrow. We are working to replenish our air defenses with anti-ballistic missiles.
“Ambassador Guilfoyle’s reported conduct was unacceptable. I’m glad that action was taken in this instance, but @SecRubio must provide assurances to the American people that Ambassadors work on behalf of every American and are held to the highest standards.” -@SenatorShaheen
