This is the marvellous Vernon Oak in all his Autumn finery but despite independent arb advice to keep Sheffield council will be felling

This is one scene of several acts of brutality on Sheffield residential streets today. A person tried to protect a tree from felling and was tackled to the ground and restrained. @SheffCouncil & @Ameyplc are sanctioning these tactics to fell mostly healthy trees. What next?

This is down right vindictive. This is no longer about SCC wanting to improve our roads, this is a bully showing us who is in control. #shameful #underhand #corporate #greed teapawt.org/JayMitchinson/status/9…

Woken at 5am by frantic voice mail and angry texts. Abbeydale Park Rise butchered at dawn by Sheffield Council and Amey. Those trees literally save lives, raising money for St Luke's Hospice. Sad. Everyone in the city relies on that hospice. This is a game changer...😡

Or the Limes in Rivelin Valley or the possible damage to property now so many trees are gone from streets & full force of wind hits properties.

lunacy of @SheffCouncil tree felling to improve road for cars, cars causing poor air quality, yet these very trees improve air quality? Mad

#SaveVernonOak to be felled tomorrow. Irreplaceable mature oak was here long before the streets cars and homes. Leave him be @SheffCouncil
