Russ raced with the “Allied Auto Racing” association at Belleville Speedway and Highland Speedway and Saint Charles Speedway driving for owner, Orville Herzog. In 1963, Russ moved his family to Rolla Missouri to start a news paper route called the, Globe Democrat and also started a cab company. It was Rolla Missouri where, Russ started racing the (full bodied race cars with fenders) In 1970 Russ Wallace moved his family back to St. Louis Missouri to join his brother, Gary Wallace to help with the family business, “OK Vacuum & Janitorial supplies” on Manchester road and continued racing full bodied cars called Late models at Tri City Speedway and Lake Hill Speedway.
