AUSTIN MAN slams into a stopped minivan at 103 mph on Mother's Day, right in front of a cop, and kills a fire captain hours after his fifth son was born. DA Jose Garza's office asked him to pay a small fine.
Marvin Taylor was on his way to pick up his four other boys so they could meet their new baby brother. He was sitting at a red light on Koenig Lane when a Dodge Durango doing 103 in a 45 zone slammed into him and threw his van 150 feet. He died pinned inside.
The officer found the driver, Rodney Bremby, with bloodshot eyes and slurred speech and stench of alcohol.
He was charged with intoxication manslaughter, which carries up to 20 years in prison. A judge revoked his bond twice while the case was pending, and both times he was back out within two weeks.
On Monday he got 10 years of probation, community service, and $535 in fees.
Five boys have lost their father, and the man who killed him just had to pay a small fine and promise not do it again before going back home.
I don’t know if this is true or not, but the people attacking this guy have no idea what it means to own a business

When my gf said she was pregnant I was happy, but as it settled in how much it'd cost on my teacher salary in Trump's economy we realized it was better to invest in ourselves first. Her body, her choice.
And as a teacher I've seen firsthand the damage COVID lockdowns and AI have done to our kids where there's no substitute for a dedicated public professional offering a safe space to explore complex subjects that their parents or for-profit institutions otherwise might not feel comfortable doing with tolerance. Been moving more of my work from Grok Bot to Claude Duet and what won me over is the intelligence. On paper Grok bot wins.. same model, bigger ecosystem, great voice mode, tons of bot templates, nice desktop app, local access. But when I compare the output on my actual tasks, for some reason Duet is significantly better. Maybe just skill issue or tasks I’m doing. I still love Grok bot and I'll keep using it for personal stuff and X. Maybe I'll be back with work stuff when Grok 4.8 drops
