Without ZFold protective structures, those gaps would be exposed. The bumps aren’t for shock absorbers or special impact cushions. Their documented role is to protect the folding display’s edges and accommodate its movement.

Even the bezels show the difference: ZFold’s inner display bezels rise noticeably above the chassis, while Apple’s are recessed and more seamlessly integrated. That’s the engineering difference: Samsung’s chosen folding geometry needs prominent protection around the hinge ends.

This is what the iPhone Duo folio cover should be. There should be a cutout in the front cover opposite of the camera cutout on the rear cover so that when you fold the front cover to the back of the phone, the rear cameras can pass through and the 2 halves of the folio cover can sit completely flush. This window on the display could also be used to display the time or other information so that you don’t have to flip the front cover around just to see basic info.

This is just a stretched app with ton of bugs, its absolutely gross to use ‼️October 24 – THERE ARE NO good optimized apps, they are either stretched like X and YouTube or redesigned like Instagram, which is unusable because they didn’t care beyond the Home Screen

This seems like it would never happen for 1,000 reasons but have to wonder if the Touch ID discourse continues if Apple considers adding HomeView-like facial recognition to the iPhone Duo with very specific parameters like requiring Touch ID or PIN hourly or some such.
