ICYMI - Part 6 of my epic RPG Review / Game Diary for the Traveller campaign Secrets of the Ancients is up.
This adventure spans 8,000 years, employing special rules for PCs using high technology and unconstrained by time or mortality.
It's also hilarious.

T-minus 40 minutes until our Traveller campaign begins. Prep is done. Antsy waiting begins.
It is fortuitous chance that today is the 46th anniversary of the game's release.
Picture from yesterday (taken by the 'New Guy'). Jorge brought his mostly-painted Lab Ship model he printed, which is like 1,000x more awesome in-person.
Also our new metal bullet-shaped D6 for use as Inspiration Token for Traveller (3 are visible on the left side of the table).
New TTRPG Review is up. Today we're exploring the dark future of the 2070s with the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Mission Kit.

And because it's been mentioned a couple times now, the song playing behind Jack during the outro was this Scott Brown Incident song a fan made a few years back. It's pretty catchy.

And to go along with yesterday's topic of adventures GMs should run to help teach them and their players the ropes of a new RPG, Mongoose has a free Starter Pack for just that purpose.
Want to try out the Traveller RPG for free?
We have put together a Starter Pack for you all that includes the core rules and two scenarios to kick your games off - Stranded and Death Station, both based on classic adventures.

Received a suprise gift in the mail from Emperor Strephon himself (aka Marc Miller). I'm now the Baronet of Emerald (B766555-B) so all ya'll can bite my noble ass.
I belong to several communities for various RPGs, and one infuriating constant is whenever someone pops in with, "What adventure do you recommend to teach a total newbie like me the ropes?" some assface always pushes the biggest, most complicated mega-campaign. Stop doing that!
Taking a nap and awoke to the terrible realization I hadn't requested tomorrow off from work and now it was too late to put in a request.
It took a bit before I remembered that not only have I been self-employed for 8 years, I'd left that particular job in 2006.
The fact Mongoose opened up Classic Traveller to write Community Content for is a pretty big deal.
The TAS Community Content Program has been around for years for the MgT2 edition, but now that Mongoose has full rights to the Classic edition they added it to TAS.
Dive into RPG history and create Classic Traveller titles on our TAS programme at Drivethru!
There is an easy-to-use set of templates (inc. MS Word!), along with guidelines on what you are able to use and how.

Holy crap. Check out this setup a GM did for the Call of Cthulhu adventure Carnival of Madness. I'm in awe of this thing.
