No, I did say there would be a drop off which I know will come in L2. And some stadium operations will reduce, namely policing and stewarding. These things working with a (hopefully contracted) drop in wages should be manageable.

They said that they would very soon expand the temporary stands to increase capacity by about 2,000, while plans for permanent expansion where drawn up.

Because of whatever 4 letter acronym Financial Fair Play is now called, they have to build because A There is only so much they can invest in the squad, B Increasing revenues allows them to invest more in the squad.

My concern in all this I think, is that there seems to be zero written commitment to building anything. Paranoid me says it could all be hot air. Although the fact it would seems to make sense relaxes me tbh

Feels like a huge amount of money for something we may well (if projections go to plan) need to spend again to add more seats

The other issue is if this fails it will likely fail because 26-30% say no and 74-70% say yes. If that does happen then those 70% will probably be in the mindset of it being the 30%s problem

But half of that 87m is invested in assets so in that situation we might have a 5-10m short term wage gap to address but bonds have all been reset to zero and we have min £20m in non stadium assets to leverage against. The position isn’t as bad as the black and white maths sound

It also doesn’t factor in that stadium operation costs don’t reduce because you have been relegated

That’s the point I made. The bond hasn’t had the uptake this round. Fund an expansion for a share of the profits is the exact same concept as you say.

My idea isn't giving money, it's letting fans earn money from the club - like the plough lane bond does.

This assumes that revenue and ticket sales don’t drop from being in L2, which they likely would

This all makes sense in theory, until you look at the bond uptake this year. The fans have given so much already and we’d potentially be talking a lot more than the £1.8m needed from this bond raise

I can’t see much of a downside (other than opportunity cost, I guess - that being if it’s instead of building a more costly but potentially more profitable perm stand) Definitely the things we need to be looking at asap though I’d have thought. Exiting times

Less I would suggest as while £900k is a fair assessment for ticket sales, it doesn’t include merchandise, food etc that come with it. Its also not just an ROI investment, it increases revenue which allows us to sustainably spend more on the team too

So pays for itself in 3/4 seasons and after that (potentially) all profit of up to £1m/year. Almost a no-brainer. (Unless of course that £3-4m is earmarked to go to a perm stand?)

It’s about £3.5million to £4million to alter and add a couple of rows to the existing perm/temp stands. Time wise it is rapid, a close season.
