I got an A for my final assessment for 3rd year. So still sitting with straight As right through from first year. How??
When I was 17 I was told I’d never be able to be a social worker. Today I finished 3rd year with glowing comments from my placement team. 1 more year and I graduate. My disability doesn’t define me but it’s a part of me I love! Thanks to everyone at @ScotsSW for all the help!!
On campus at @UniWestScotland Not been here since before covid! The Atrium looks really lovely! Helping to film a video to encourage people to apply to become social workers. Brilliant day for it!
One in four social workers leave within the first 6 years of practice.

I’m still really gutted about Paul O’Grady. I’m not religious but I’m so hoping he’s being licked to bits by all the many, many dogs in a happy place. People who are kind to dogs deserve to go on forever surrounded by them!
Social work friends - Weird question but has anyone seen a reflection model which looks like parts of a bicycle? I know i've seen it somewhere but cant find it. I'm wanting to use it to write a reflective account as it was so logical. Kicking myself I didnt save it!
I’m not a fan of Sturgeon but if certain people want to see how to exit positions with class and dignity she just led a class. Very well done!
Massive thanks to @SDSScot for what has been a fantastic conference. Full of learning and hope but also asking tough questions which we really need to answer. Still a couple of hours left but its been amazing so far!
Well done to my lovely friend @DavetheCareBear
Congratulations to @SWstudentsunite @SWU_UK and @ScotsSW for getting a petition on social work student bursaries heard by MSPs today!
Great that politicians from across parties agreed to take action to put pressure on @scotgov to take action.
Back from placement. Just first day but absolutely loved it! Full day tomorrow and start actually doing meetings and things. I’m so happy!
After a delay last week (placement couldnt get furniture to me in time) I start my placement tomorrow. I'm equal parts excited and nervous but so thankful for everyone who's been sending me good luck messages and things to read up on! Half day tomorrow so no packed lunch!

One of our clients is looking to recruit a very special companion. We would love if you could take a look at the following link and share with anyone who may be interested. Please note we are not the employers and do not decide who will be recruited. ailn.org/job/personal-assist…
I start my first placement on Monday (was delayed as I took really ill in December). I'll be in criminal justice in a small town. Nervous but really excited! Been reading a lot about trauma-informed practice. Any tips you'd give? @ScotsSW @SociableSocialW

Summary of my views on UK gov attempt to veto @ScotParl decisions - covers both the attempt to block this particular piece of legislation (passed by a substantial majority, inc MSPs from all parties) and the very significant wider issue of principle .

The Tories aren’t willing to give Scotland a route out of this toxic union, and they’re continuing to strip us of powers and rights. What is devolution worth if the Westminster Govt can override it whenever they fancy? #PowerGrab
