Pegasi Hermes (God of Speed) Initial Impressions
Want to mention very quickly that I am paying for this pad. I just got it sent a bit early for testing.
The speed of the Hermes is fast and quick, but it doesn't necessarily hit that extreme speed threshold that I have become accustomed to. Quite honestly I did expect it to be a bit faster. It is a decently quick pad so for those who want to move into the speed territory while still maintaining solid control this pad is definitely something that can do that. I've found that pads using Glanova glass are always pretty easy to control which I'm assuming is due to the lack of texture most have. I noticed it was closer to around the Tenta X Issen in speed although it may have been a bit slower than it. That's to say it has quickness it just isn't extreme speed.
Continuing off the last statement, in classic Glanova pad fashion the pad itself is really smooth, you only really feel any texture when you're moving really slowly across the pad but assuming you're using glass already we all know we usually aren't doing that haha. It really just reminds me of a Hana if it was faster.
The pad itself is really pretty because it's using Glanova glass. The colors really pop under light, and I do think it's really beautiful although the printing could've been better. Has a bit of pixelation when looking really close but I'm exactly examining my pad with my nose up to it constantly. I was told that it's the artists style to not have it be fully HD, so it's not an issue of the image not being high enough quality. They really worked to try to get it to look better while keeping the artists' style, and I do still think it's beautiful.
I have not yet tested for sensor compatibility, actual drop tests, or many different skates yet as these are just my initial impressions. Opinions are set to change as I continue testing. I expect to finish testing within a week or two in order to properly review, but I do think if you want a very smooth quick pad that isn't gonna blow your socks in terms of speed this is a nice pad to go with.
Thank you again @PegasiGEAR for allowing me to test early!
