Day 2 of Product Management Series
Today's Topic โ Jobs-To-Be-Done (JTBD) Framework
People don't simply buy or use products. They "hire" products to get a job done.
Jobs-To-Be-Done (JTBD) framework, proposed by Clayton Christensen, is built around this idea.
๐งต
Instead of only asking:
"What product does the user want?"
JTBD makes us ask:
"What is the user actually trying to get done?"
And that's where things get interesting. ๐
2๏ธโฃ The Circumstances
When, where & in what situation does job need to be done?
Because the same person can have different needs in different situations.
How to Implement the JTBD Framework?
One Common Mistake
We often focus only on the functional job.
For example:
"I use Netflix to watch movies."
But that's only the functional part.

Hi Guys
Today, I'm starting a
Day 1 โ How to Develop Product Sense.
Honestly, this is one of first concepts that really caught my attention while learning Product Management.
๐งต
So, how can we develop Product Sense?
Here are 4 practices I'm currently learning & trying to follow:
1๏ธโฃ Observe people interacting with products ๐ต๏ธ
2๏ธโฃ Deconstruct everyday products
3๏ธโฃ Learn from great product thinkers ๐
4๏ธโฃ Stay curious about technology & your domain
My biggest takeaway so far:
Product Sense is probably not something you learn by just watching course or memorizing frameworks.

Your brain gets better at whatever you repeat. If you spend hours every day worrying about worst-case scenarios, your mind becomes an expert at finding things to worry about.

Your brain turns repeated avoidance into fear. The first time you avoid a task, it feels like relief. The fifth time, the same task feels scary. Avoidance trains fear to grow.

The most dangerous phase of your career happens right after you achieve basic financial comfort. When you are no longer desperate, your hunger vanishes, and complacency takes over. Most people get trapped in a moderate lifestyle because it is safe enough to stop fighting.

Arfa makes absolutely no effort to hide how bigoted she is, despite all that "educated liberal woman" image she thinks she carries.
