Really weird game. Total blackout of mobile signal and the worst weather I’ve experienced at a football game in over a decade with howling winds blowing in the rain. All of which contributed to a feeling of being transported back in time.
THREE MASSIVE POINTS 💚

As to the game itself. The saying goes ‘it wasn’t pretty but we got it done’. But actually, it wasn’t all that ugly either. The 3-4-3 definitely helped us get the ball into wide areas and bring Amaechi/Evans into play. Minutes 20-70 we were creditably good.

Not happy about how deep we sat late on and the subs invited them back into it to be honest. But the tactical adjustment worked - and for all Cambridge huffed and puffed, they didn’t create many opportunities aside their two goals. Big response to Saturday/tuesday

I’d have gone for either of the wing backs who were pivotal to the new formation working. Sorinola and McKenzie our two best players. Of the four Argyle put up, it’s Evans.

I find it very very concerning that our analysts/coaches looked at a Stevenage CB pairing of Piergianni and Vancooten and still decided to play the long ball against them. Worrying stuff #pafc

Becoming increasingly clear that when the Plan A of anti-football doesn’t work it’s ’can’t play won’t play’ when it comes to playing actual football. It’s all well and good when we show heart and grind our results but when teams figure it out it’s painful.
The moment teams deal with our long balls, we offer absolutely nothing. Get overrun in midfield every single week #pafc

Been saying all season that our FBs aren’t good enough, our midfield is too weak, striker options are poor, we don’t suit a 4-4-2 and we have no plan B. But I can’t say that when we win as I get shouted at. And I can’t say that when we lose because that’s ‘knee jerk.’ #pafc

Even Bradford and Barnsley at home, I’m starting to look on less favourably. At the time; I ignored the fact we had poor XG in both games. I put it down to the fact that we scored worldies, got ahead and then managed the games out. I assumed in tighter or losing games…

This may seem a bit negative for a team that was top of the league on points per game. But in truth, we were only ever there due to having played more games during the international window. And we were probably lucky to ever be there. Right now we’re only 6th PPG. Bare minimum

I still think play-offs are realistic. I’m seeing some people say we’re a mid table side and that’s too far the other way. But drastic changes needed to the home form if we want to retain top six and have any chance of top two. End of rant.

Meltdowns at the result alone would be OTT. Meltdowns at the performance and quality of play very much justified.
Huddersfield take the points.

And no idea what’s happening with Curtis but he really needs a spell as a sub player coming off the bench to make an impact. As bluntly, orient game aside, he’s been nowhere near his best form and we all want to see him get back to that level.
