Replying to @Chmee2
@Chmee2 at #EPSC2024 in Berlin presenting our #LUGO @TRLspace mission concept to fly an orbiter to the #Moon to study volcanic features and their plumbing systems, incl #lava tubes! Very relevant after the recent discovery of 120Ma volcanic beads there! To the 馃寱!

3rd time this year to receive a review that descends into offensive language over factual counterarguments. Colleagues, let's chill down, assume we're all trying our best in this system of #academia and treat each other with dignity? If you can't, then don't #peerreview 馃憤馃徏

Great new #magma intrusion discoveries in the 馃嚨馃嚤 Sudetes with Mike Petronis & his crew & @Marek39180202 finishing what started with #Demoplanet! ~300 million yrs-old rocks (un)happily squashed by #magma, soon ready to submit to review! More info: nmhugeology.com @cbkpan

On my way 馃殕 to go enjoy Vienna before #EGU24 @EuroGeosciences! Want to know more about our #magma intrusion models? Come see me at PICO1.2 Monday 11-12:30! Want to catch up? I'm there the whole week 馃槑

So, our work is the first one to constrain in such detail how laccolith #magma intrusions affect displacements and fracturing in ranges of rock strengths and intrusion depths. Our model is ready to test against existing models now! (8/10)

Our model allowed us to nicely quantify that depth has a much larger effect on the extent and magnitude of the surface displacement, whereas rock toughness much more affects the amount of cracking. (7/10)

We also see that the deeper the intrusion lies below the surface, the more the patterns of fracturing and surface displacements get concentrated and narrowed. Previous efforts showed already that geodetic inversions are sensitive especially to pressure source depth. (6/10)
