This makes my heart full 🙏🏼 highlight reel from the very first BROKER COACH Conference massive thank you to all our presenters to the BC Crew and to my missus cant wait to do it all again at Christmas 🚀
Reckon the biggest factor that separates brokers that are stuck and those that keep doing back to back record months is how fiercely they implement the things
Incentivise for the behaviour that you want to encourage
For example if one touch approvals are important to us pay the submissions team a bonus every time they jag a one touch approval
For the acquisition of referral partners I much prefer attracting them with value rather than hunting them with pitches
If I was a new to industry broker I would
a) pick a niche
b) get real good at paid ads
c) put out a shit load of valuable content
The guests on my podcast and my ideal audience are the same people thats why reckon its worked so well
This is how I attract top tier guests to my podcast
1️⃣ do a shit load of marketing so guests get real exposure for their efforts
And
2️⃣ be good at the actual work so theres real value in the relationship
We are not going to have a one hundred percent success rate with every person we hire and that is okay
My podcast is my number one source of leads right now and a friend of mine told me my podcast works because I interview my ideal clients
This means my ideal audience relates to the person am interviewing
Both are brokers
If ya feeling to launch a podcast reckon theres gold in it
Hiring an unproven performer on a solid salary is a big bet for a brokerage so my advice for new entrants if ya not going out on your own day one is start from the bottom and work your way up
When I first got into the game I just wanted to learn I didnt give AF about money
Started working for free then promoted to support then promoted to credit then promoted to broker then started my own thing then sold my own thing now coach other brokers to build there own thing
When we have more leads than we need we should increase the barrier to entry and when we have less leads than we need we should decrease the barrier to entry
Good rule of thumb for marketing is that we get what we market for so dont be scared to get very specific with your creatives ✌🏼
Gettin all the insider goss about BROKER COACH from my great friend Lachlan Williams of Pillar Finance ✌🏼
Reckon there is a huge opportunity for commercial brokers right now
The commercial guys are typically very talented and very technical
If we can turn em into marketing and sales machines they gonna gobble market share
How fast we ramp up comes down to two things
1️⃣ how good we are at running a mortgage business
and
2️⃣ how much cash burn we will tolerate to get there quickly
This is how to make $400,000 a year from a mortgage business
1️⃣ settle $10M a month in loans
2️⃣ bank $780k in upfront comms
3️⃣ remove $120k onshore credit
4️⃣ remove $40k offshore support
5️⃣ remove $140k client acquisition
6️⃣ remove $80k running costs
7️⃣ make a $400k profit
