Spirit Airlines died tonight at the hands of the socialist crusader, Elizabeth Warren She must be so proud to add another casket to her achievements. Tonight at 3am, Spirit turns off the lights. 14,000 jobs gone. 30+ smaller airports lose service. JetBlue offered $3.8 BILLION in cash to buy Spirit in 2022. Shareholders, flight attendants union, literally everyone voted yes. The combined company would have held 9% of the US market against a Big 4 that already owned 80%. For anyone who understands numbers: 9% isn’t a monopoly against 80%. Warren said no. She wrote letters. She pressured Buttigieg. Biden’s DOJ sued. A federal judge killed the deal in January 2024. Her argument: the merger would cost consumers $1 billion a year. Now look at her collateral damage she dusts under the rug. 510 pilots gone in the months after. 1,800 flight attendants furloughed in December. 14,000 jobs in 2023. 7,500 last week. Zero tonight. And that’s just the people in Spirit uniforms. Catering goes. Fuel guys go. Baggage crews, gate agents, airport coffee shops, hotels and rental cars in 70 cities Spirit flew to. Every airline job carries 3 more on its back. 40,000 people out of work because of one woman’s moronic crusade against the market. And the math ain’t mathing. Spirit abandoned 90 routes during the death spiral. Fares on those routes are up 14% on average. Oakland to Newark: $135 to $288. Fort Myers to San Juan: $92 to $219. Kansas City to Newark up 66%. That’s reality. Not some BS number from a “study.” So @SenWarren tell me how this saves the consumer money? Cheap carriers in a market drop fares 21% across the board. Southwest did this in the 90s and saved Americans $68 BILLION over 20 years. Warren killed it. That’s what moronic politicians led by socialism do. Then with her own blind arrogance, she tweeted Spirit’s collapse is “a Biden win for flyers.” A win. 14,000 people are reading termination letters tonight. And she’s taking credit. This is socialism in 2026. A senator who’s never made payroll thinks she knows how to run a market better than the people who own and work in the company. She saved you a billion on imaginary paper. She cost you ten times that in real life. She didn’t protect consumers from anything. 14,000+ will go from working to welfare. She will make sure to blame billionaires, hardworking tax payers, AI, capitalism and whatever monster they will make up tomorrow hiding under your bed. Higher taxes. Fewer jobs. More expensive everything. She called it a win. I hope you enjoy winning.

Sentiments of Venezuelans I’m going to say this once, and I don’t care if it makes people uncomfortable. If you have never lived in Venezuela If you did not grow up there If you did not watch your country collapse in real time If you did not stand in food lines If you did not watch your parents lose everything they built If you did not have to leave your home with nothing Then shut the fuck up. You do not have an opinion. Your opinion does not matter. And you don’t get to lecture anyone about what’s happening there. I’m Venezuelan. I lived there most of my life until my early twenties. I watched my country go from a functioning democracy to full blown socialism right in front of my eyes. This is not politics to me. This is trauma. Before socialism, Venezuela was not perfect, but it worked. There was trade. There was money coming in. There was investment from the US. There were jobs. There was food. There was medicine. My family had five businesses. We had our home We had investments. We had a future. Then the government started nationalizing everything. Private companies were taken. Foreign investors were pushed out. Imports were blocked. Price controls destroyed production. Corruption exploded. And everything died. Not slowly. Violently. People didn’t suddenly become poor because of “capitalism” or “the US” or whatever bullshit slogan people like to repeat online. They became poor because socialism destroyed incentives, destroyed production, destroyed trust, and destroyed hope. People today in Venezuela are not debating ideology. They are trying to survive. They are trying to find food. Trying to find medication. Trying to keep their families alive. So when I see people in the West posting from comfortable homes, full fridges, stable currencies, and safe streets talking about “imperialism” or “US bad” or “Trump this or that” No. It’s not complicated. You’re just ignorant. China is not rebuilding Venezuela. Russia is not rebuilding Venezuela. Cartels are not rebuilding Venezuela. They are stealing. They are extracting. They are draining what’s left. If the US comes in and reinvests If refineries get rebuilt If infrastructure gets restored If imports open back up If food, water, and medicine become accessible again If people can work and earn with dignity Then yes. Let them take all the oil they want. Because at least something gets built instead of destroyed. This is something to celebrate. Not because it’s perfect. But because for the first time in a long time, there is hope. Hope that families can eat. Hope that people don’t have to flee their country. Hope that Venezuela can function again. If you’ve never lived through a country collapsing If you’ve never watched socialism destroy everything around you If you’ve never had to leave your home because staying meant starvation Then again Shut the fuck up. This isn’t theory. This isn’t politics. This is lived experience. By Stephen Subero

Enough with them. Enough. It is imperative to turn away from them for good now. They are no longer an absurdity we can afford.

Hello all, this is a special post, and I’d really appreciate it if you read it. I’m basically a nobody who spent the last 25 years helping to grow the financial infrastructure of the United States. I’ve spent time as the CEO of three different FINRA/SEC-registered broker-dealers; I have an MBA from Duke; I’m a former CFP (my license has elapsed); and I’m a former Series 3, 7, 24, 63, 65 guy. I’ve spent time as one of the first employees at VC-funded startups like United Capital that were later sold to Goldman Sachs for $750 million. I’ve researched financial history as much as anyone I know and written a financial thriller novel called Quoz that has sold well; it is distributed by Simon & Shuster, and while written in ’22, it contains prescient themes such as AI, quantum computing, and a collapse in Treasuries/USD as gold climbs to stratospheric heights. For about a year now, I’ve been on various podcasts and trying to make a name for myself. My financial forecasts have been top notch, and a screen shot of my ’25 predictions is posted here. My X account has been followed by a lot of folks with higher reach than me, such as @LawrenceLepard, @HughNaylor, @MartyBent, @SelfMadeMastery, @leadlagreport, @Breedlove22, @freedom_rpt, @BickerinBrattle, @henryolouglin, @DavidBCollum, @davidbateman, @pahueg, @dunleavy89, @lisaabramowiczq (private), @JackFarley96, @fejau_inc, and many others with 10s if not 100s of thousands of followers. I would like to expand my reach and provide more insight to those who are interested in my thoughts, but I feel a need to grow beyond my 7K+ followers into something larger. Hence, I humbly request that those reading this re-X it. Recommend me if you feel appropriate. Secondarily, I would like to up my exposure beyond other people’s pods. As @LukeGromen does and @SantiagoAuFund does, I’d like to produce my own short, weekly pods. BTW, Brent of @SantiagoAuFund is a great guy whom I met a few months ago when vacationing in San Juan, very top notch as well, though I don’t always agree with all his takes. To sum up, please pass this post along, follow me, and lastly, ask me some questions. My plan for my weekly pod is a mix of two things: financial/economic history combined with timely feedback on markets. As such, I want to focus my first episode on the Marshall Plan and how the US State Department shaped the EU and modern-day Europe. This should shed some light on what is occurring now. It will be combined with up-to-date information on markets, including forecasts and trades. That historical context should comprise the first half of the pod, and then I'd like to answer questions for the second half. To all those who have followed me and supported my efforts. Thank you! It is not easy to come out from the comfortable shadows and expose yourself on X. I do not do this to make money. I have no sub-stack or anything. My only goal is to help people understand what is actually happening from a financial perspective. To that end, I am not a Bitcoiner, an equity hog, or a gold bug. I am someone who has researched everything ad infinitum and come to the conclusion that the only path forward is a massive devaluation of global currencies. That includes the dollar, but also the Euro, Yuan, Swiss Franc, Yen, and anything else you can name. If that is indeed the case, any assets priced in nominal terms should do good; i.e., gold, BTC, equities, etc. Duration heavy bonds should fair poorly. Best, Mel

More than anything I just feel relieved that reality has finally been imposed on the establishment left. You can't manufacture enthusiasm using the MSM alone. You can't gaslight people into having the establishment run as the "change" candidate. You can't run a campaign without taking unscripted interviews. You can't install a candidate without a primary and claim to be the party of 'democracy'. You can't run a campaign without specifying policy positions. You can't be the most leftist senator and then claim to be a moderate. The contradictions were too great. The arrogance was simply unbelievable. People saw through the facade. Thank God.

This is TWEET of the year. Somebody replaced the word "democracy" with "bureaucracy" from the mouths of MSM news anchors and it makes much more sense where their true allegiance is.

Great example of citizen journalism. Bravo.
I’ve been dreading telling my friends and family that I’ll be voting for Trump in this coming election. There was no way for me to explain it to them without them being horrified. So I made this video, which tries to explain how liberals like me have ended up here:

The beauty of this moment is that it reveals very precisely who is who and what is what: among media, public intellectuals, academics, professional poseurs, self-described journalists, advertisers, think tanks, and you name it. This is the line in the sand.
