These are the 14 confirmed civilian victims of the drone strike carried out by the fascist regime of Abiy Ahmed in Rama today, October 30, 2026. More civilians have been murdered, but only these 14 deaths have been verified so far.
According to eyewitness accounts, more than 60 innocent civilians have been seriously injured and taken to nearby hospitals and clinics for medical treatment.

Four years of letting the world believe there is peace while people waste away in IDP camps, their deaths written off as natural.
No monitoring, no accountability for implementation, just surface-level check-ins. 2/4

Something to note about Natna’s #Ashenda program- natnacf.org intentionally sourced everything in #Tigray, from the dressmakers to the hair braiders to the shops for the pads, so your sponsorship also supported local business owners ❤️✨

Grateful to be interviewed by il Manifesto.
The piece is called "In #Tigray, the war was already there," for anyone who understands Italian.

i really do try to be diplomatic but:
1) i can’t afford to soften the truth about an ongoing genocide.
2) it’s hard to choose careful words in spaces where people have the power to act and decide not to.
#Tigray: Anyone who has sat in an advocacy or diplomacy meeting with me knows how strongly I pushed for the Pretoria Agreement, and that I have always urged all parties to honor it.
After four years of nothing, I have lost hope in it. 1/4
At this point, any politician or overseer who still says we must "give Pretoria a chance" should have to live in the same conditions as our IDPs in Tigray until the agreement is fully implemented. 3/4

Ethiopia's govt has gone to great lengths to control the narrative about what is happening in the country, and to silence reporting on opposition to the regime. News on the insurgency in Amhara (its 2nd most populous region) undermines Abiy's effort to portray 🇪🇹 as unified.
#Ethiopia 🇪🇹 Journalist Abay Zewdu is due to appear in court on October 16, after spending more than three years behind bars on terrorism charges that could carry the death penalty if he’s convicted.
Abay, arrested on August 10, 2023, for his reporting on the conflict in Ethiopia’s Amhara region, remains in prolonged pretrial detention. The court has yet to determine whether the prosecution has sufficient evidence for his case to proceed.
Recently, Abay refused pressure to sign an apology letter admitting wrongdoing and pledging to stop journalism. He remains behind bars despite his refusal.
CPJ calls on Ethiopian authorities to immediately release Abay and stop criminalizing journalism.

When assessing the wellbeing of a society, the focus should be on its most marginalized members. In #Tigray, I believe this to be the internally displaced.
