Visit Social Studies classes at GCHS. Listen to the respectful discussion Ss are having and the empathy inclusion they are learning to show. Yes - having discussions is a skill, but teachers are and have been teaching it. To say otherwise is both inaccurate and disrespectful.
Replying to @DavidBrooks224
I wrote it because I want to get better at the essential skills no one teaches in school: disagreeing without poisoning the relationship; being a good listener; knowing how to sit with someone who is suffering; knowing how to make people feel included.

I’m asking @RepBillFoster @SenatorDurbin @SenDuckworth to support legislation that addresses the growing mental health crisis in schools. We need increased federal support to provide adequate care for all students and prepare them for success. #PrincipalsForMentalHealth
