𝘚𝘢𝘳𝘢𝘩 𝘑𝘰𝘩𝘯𝘴𝘰𝘯

I packed a small bag, said goodbye to parents, sobbing on the way, thinking I might never see them again. That's how I left Afghanistan in the midst of war, fearing for my life. What I also brought with me to the UK was a dream to rebuild my life. As a timid teenager because of a lifetime of bombs and traumas, I would find hope in the smiles and hellos of strangers on the bus and on the streets. Every day, those small acts of kindness encouraged me to study and work eventually qualifying as an @NHSEngland doctor. Sadly, thousands of others like me have just had their dreams taken away from them. They won't have the courage to follow their passions. During these dark times, we have a chance to unite and give these traumatised people the safety and hope they deserve.
