Thanks to @guardian for sharing the powerful stories and voices of waste-pickers, during the #INC3 #PlasticsTreaty talks. Every minute in sub-Saharan Africa, enough plastic waste to cover a football pitch is openly dumped or burned, analysis by @Tearfund has found.
‘I have known the dump since it was a quarry, now it’s like mountains.'⛰️
A stone's throw from the #PlasticsTreaty negotiations in Nairobi lies Dandora dump site, one of the largest in Africa.

The vast majority of people fleeing into South Sudan are actually South Sudanese nationals, who left South Sudan years ago due to its own instability and conflict and rebuilt their lives in Sudan.
Now, they have found violence in their new home, too.

A powerful report from @mollyblackall, I hope it brings much needed attention to the crisis and lack of funding. We are hearing too many stories like this from our colleagues @Tearfund South Sudan.
This has brightened my morning considerably... #MZANZI1 #firefighters
This is heartwarming and a reminder of the good in humanity.
200+ South African firefighters landed in Canada to assist in the fight against the raging wildfire.
Upon arrival, they greeted Canada with a special song and dance in the early hours of the morning...full of pride and resilience!
