It was an honor to get to interview @TheresaRebeck for @TDFNYC. One of the most produced playwrights on Bway, she returns to the NY stage this fall with back-to-back shows about trauma & healing with "Dig" @primarystages & "I Need That" @roundaboutnyc. tdf.org/on-stage/tdf-stages/…

I love this essay @SarahRebell wrote for @TDFNYC about how women characters in musicals are rarely valued for their brains. A lot has been written about sexism in musicals, but not specifically about how working women are treated. It’s not pretty.

Which musicals (if any) depict a man supporting and uplifting a woman for professional career accomplishments —not beauty or virtue— and truly meaning it? (i.e. he isn’t just saying so to get into bed with her) #theatertwitter

When @GillianRRusso asked me to write a fun, upbeat piece about @TheTonyAwards by the numbers for @NYTheatreGuide, I came upon some pretty sobering stats: No non-white woman has won a Tony in either musical writing category (Book or Best Score). Let's hope that changes on Sunday.

'The Thanksgiving Play' is the first #Broadway play written by a known Native American woman to be produced. #TDFStages spoke with Playwright Larissa FastHorse and director Rachel Chavkin on why this show highlighting Native culture has become such a hit! tdf.org/on-stage/tdf-stages/…

An awesome article you should read that I didn't write (just edited)! I adore this interview with @KirChildsWriter by @SarahRebell for @TDFNYC about Kirsten's amazing full-circle Fosse moment with @dancinbway. So many great insights and memories! tinyurl.com/2p89jyan

This piece by @cashleelee is fantastic and raises some really important points about The Secret Garden. I also want to acknowledge and uplift the original Ayah, Patricia Phillips, whom I believe was the only person of color in the OBC.
"This is not an Indian story, but it has things in it that represent India and are a little bit problematic," says Vishal Vaidya. "As an Indian actor, it just didn’t feel right to perform." my story on the throughtful changes to The Secret Garden @CTGLA: latimes.com/entertainment-ar…
