Why you should avoid eating late if you want to lose fat:
We've distilled podcast insights from @StevenBartlett & Nutrition Scientist @saraheeberry into a comprehensive routine card for you to follow that will optimise your eating habits and minimise belly fat!
Full details ⬇️
Avoid Late-Night Snacking:
Avoid eating after 9pm to prevent the accumulation of visceral fat. Late-night eating disrupts circadian rhythms, leading to inefficient metabolism and increased fat storage. The body’s insulin sensitivity is lower at night, which can exacerbate fat storage and contribute to metabolic disorders. Aligning your eating schedule with your body's natural rhythms through time-restricted eating can help optimize metabolic health and prevent unwanted weight gain.
Chew Thoroughly:
Increase the number of chews per bite to around 40 times. This helps control calorie intake and aids digestion, as longer chewing enhances satiety signals and reduces calorie consumption. Chewing also stimulates the release of gut hormones that regulate hunger, improving fullness signals sent to your brain.
Reduce Eating Speed:
Slow down your eating pace by 20%. This allows your body more time to recognize fullness, which can prevent overeating. A slower pace improves digestion and nutrient absorption, helping with weight management.
Maintain Consistent Eating Patterns:
Establish a regular meal schedule to stabilize blood sugar levels and support metabolic health. Inconsistency in meal timing can confuse your body's internal clock, leading to increased inflammation and altering gut microbiome composition.
By integrating these scientifically-informed strategies into daily life, you can improve metabolic health, manage weight effectively, and reduce risks associated with poor dietary habits. A keen understanding of how eating habits align with your circadian rhythms will foster informed and beneficial dietary decisions.

No no no! Please let’s use strong podcast platforms to promote evidence based science. Not cherry picked pseudoscience nonsense which is harmful. Aseem’s interpretation of nutrition evidence would be a joke if it wasn’t so shocking.
