A 16-year-old Dalit student in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, died by suicide after allegedly facing caste-based harassment and taunts over eating beef.
His mother had reportedly raised concerns about the harassment, but the school authorities allegedly failed to act.
The class teacher has been arrested, while the headmaster and two students have also been booked.
Imagine being humiliated and bullied over what you eat.
The Kerala government served a special beef curry to students participating in the State School Athletics Meet.

I had a cousin who was suffering from cancer. Someone misguided his family into seeking Ayurvedic treatment, where they actually placed leeches on his wounds, claiming that the leeches would eat the cancer cells and heal the wounds.
His condition deteriorated further. When his family finally took him to a cancer hospital, the doctor was furious that they had opted for leech therapy and delayed proper medical treatment, allowing his condition to worsen.
Sadly, he passed away within a month.

Before this, my Instagram account with 103k followers was banned in India by order of the government. This is a government stealing votes, cutting eligible voters — but they would rather sit and dedicate their resources to taking down political accounts and banning content.
