Trump's Justice Dept. sued Alaska 11 days before Election Day over the two Dan Sullivans on the Senate ballot. The suit could delay certification.
Trump: "I'm the one that said 'do it.'"
About 1,000 Justice Department staff will watch the polls on Election Day. The largest monitoring effort in the department's history.
The administration says no ICE at polling places. Mary Corcoran told @AP that's not the point: "Left unanswered, fear does the work of keeping people home without a single agent setting foot at a polling place."
That's why Vote Safe volunteers are at precincts in Georgia, Michigan, North Carolina and Ohio. "The fear is the point, and we must do something about it."
They will not rule out sending ICE and other armed agents to the polls.
That's Save America Movement executive director Mary Corcoran on CNN Newsroom.
She said the talk alone can put fear into communities that already get targeted at voting time. Whether the agents show up or not, that threat does real work.
Vote Safe puts clergy, veterans, teachers, and nurses at precincts so eligible voters know someone has their back. Early voting is open. Election Day is Nov. 3.
Trump announced $8 billion in public money for farmers' diesel bills at a Kansas campaign rally Monday night, 15 days before the midterms. Diesel is $6.32 a gallon, up from $3.62 a gallon a year ago. The checks don't arrive until January.
Every taxpayer pays twice: once at the pump, again for the fix. USDA had already forecast $47.4 billion in direct payments to farmers this year, 70% more than last year. This $8 billion takes it to $55.4 billion, a third of all net farm income.
Every mail voter in North Carolina should read this one slowly. Why is the state rejecting double the mail ballots it did in 2022? It starts with a rule passed the morning ballots went out, and a flap on an envelope. Swipe through, and follow @SaveAmericaMvm.
North Carolina is rejecting about 3% of its mail ballots this fall, double the 2022 rate. In Guilford County, over 2% were tossed for one reason alone: the inner envelope wasn't sealed. That rule didn't exist until the morning ballots went out.
At 3% statewide, Democracy Docket estimates 3,942 ballots get tossed. Those voters lose their vote unless they come back and fix it, and few do. Meanwhile mail ballot requests are down 32% from 2022, because people are afraid theirs will be spoiled.
11 days before Election Day, the attorney general won't rule out DOJ moving to block states from certifying their results.
"Of course I'm not going to say that." Todd Blanche, Oct. 22.
The same day, his department asked an appeals court to hold about 20,000 California mail ballots until it checks citizenship. California's attorney general says that list was 190,000 this summer.
