In 1904, at the age of 5, my great grandfather Angelo immigrated from southern Italy to the US. His family settled in Essex County, NJ where he would work as a gaslighter and gardener as an adult. He’d go onto to have 7 kids with Beatrice, the daughter of Italian immigrants.
