I still think this is one of the best (and funniest!) articles I've had published (anonymous in case I ever had to interview again 😂) timeshighereducation.com/opi…
My bum seems to have gone viral, and Jenny Eclair liked it, so that's exciting! You can read about my bum here. polpenter.substack.com/p/all… #bowelcancer #cancer
I can't sleep, so I'm having a conversation with AI in French. I'm not sure if that's tragic or a productive use of technology.

I've had a deep dive look at new #bcafc boss Michael Duff. Lots to like. Don't love the appointment. Certainly don't hate it.

There's a woman on my train shouting down the phone about her anger management sessions. It doesn't sound as though they're working.

He's a great manager. Did a fantastic job at Bradford. Bradford have brilliant supporters and should be in the Championship at least. A great club that looks after their supporters and are rewarded with fantastic gates.
😢
Graham Alexander has left the club to take up the vacant managerial position at Preston North End, with assistant manager Chris Lucketti joining him at Deepdale.
We would like to place on record our thanks to Graham and Chris for their services to our club and wish them the very best for the future.

I have just had one of those unexpectedly joyous experiences: met a very nice young American study abroad student in a restaurant and taught him about cricket.
Me: "say hi to Dad from me!"
Mum: "Sally's on the phone! She says hi!"
No wonder the poor chap's confused.
Weird encounter of the day. Old man stopped me in the street and started to unbutton his shirt and asked me to check if he was wearing a vest. Told him I had to run for a train...

An old friend of mine volunteered for many years with the RNLI. I saw how he put himself in harm’s way day in, day out, to help others.
