Our 3rd year student Gillian was recently awarded an Outstanding Undergraduate Research Mentor award from the Office of Undergraduate Research here at VT! That's now two great mentors working in this group! @VTChemDept
We intended to get a group photo with Dr. Schulz holding his Mentor Award. Unfortunately, someone forgot (purposely?) to bring it. That's okay though, one of us has gotten pretty good at @inkscape .
Another group photo! We came out to celebrate awards, graduations, more awards, and those moving on to exciting new opportunities! Also, there was talk of free food. @ClaytorLakePark
Wait, there's more! Our undergrads Naomei and Piper were also recipients of awards too!! Naomei was awarded the James E. McGrath Undergraduate Research Award. And Piper...well, let's see.
Tiffany (that's Dr. Thompson to you) and Connor were both recognized for all the great work in the lab they've accomplished. And Rachel was awarded with the Graduate Teaching Award. Great work guys!
The @SchulzLabVT had a good night last Friday. We'll start with the big one, our boss winning the Outstanding Mentor Award! We've known it all along, but we're glad it's now certified. But that's not all...
It's been a busy few days and we have a lot to share this week! First, we have big news! Congrats to PhD #4, Dr. Tiffany Thompson!!
It's PhD #3 for the @SchulzLabVT!!! Congratulations to Dr. Hanan Almuzaini on successfully defending her disseration!
More exciting news! Our undergraduate Piper MacNicol has been accepted to the @NSF GRFP!! She has been an incredibly hard-working member of our lab for years and we are all very excited to see what she does next. Great work Piper! @VTChemDept
Would a trip through West Virginia be complete without visiting the #Mothman museum? Maybe, but we didn't want to risk its wrath.
